Few pieces get picked up as casually or as often as a spreader, which is a good argument for one that is genuinely well made. The Albero Spreader comes from Rivadossi, a family run cutlery maker working in Lumezzane, in Italy's Lombardy region, since the 1960s. The blade is 18/10 stainless steel, 18 percent chromium and 10 percent nickel, so it resists rust and corrosion and keeps a polished finish through years of cheese boards. The handle carries the warmth of wood in high-grade polyester, which gives the Albero pattern its relaxed look. Dishwasher safe, it is the piece that lives on the board from the first guest to the last.
