No amount of scrubbing with. Ar keepers remove the scratches. Mikasa refuses to offer a refund or exchange. Think twice before ordering these dishes. Even the outside of the bowls (where no silverware) is scratched

The photos of this place setting do not do it justice. The outer rim is grayish, translucent and shiny. It is simply elegant, literally, and classy, yet casual enough for every day. I had no idea what I was going to get when I ordered, but I am exceptionally pleased with this purchase. Time will tell how they hold up (chipping, etc.) but at this point I recommend highly. I ordered one extra place setting to fill in if necessary.
