Wanted to love it but the lid does not look as nice in person, is too shallow even for European butter (unless PERFECTLY formed), and does not sit flush on the plate.

The bottom of this butter dish does not go with the top. It's too big and bulky and also just porcelain white. I wrongly thought the bottom would match in pewter, especially for the price. The top is very decorative and nice, but not worth the money with a plain white bottom that clearly wasn't made for the top.

Cannot put a normal size butter. The butter hits the top of the lid. Horrible design
