This elegant photograph captures Mr. and Mrs. Donald Leas with their Rolls Royce and two pet dogs outside The Flagler Museum in Palm Beach, Florida, in April 1968. The image epitomizes the refined lifestyle and understated luxury that defined Palm Beach society during the late 1960s. Set against the backdrop of Henry Flagler's palatial former residence, now a museum celebrating the Gilded Age, this photograph showcases the continuity of American wealth and sophistication across generations. The Flagler Museum, built in 1902 as Whitehall, represents the golden era of American industrial fortune, making it the perfect setting for this portrait of contemporary affluence. The scene captures the essence of Palm Beach's social hierarchy, where established families like the Leas maintained their position through a combination of old-world elegance and modern luxury, embodying the timeless appeal of American high society's winter retreat. Slim Aarons, renowned for his evocative photographs of, as he described it, "attractive people doing attractive things in attractive places," was the quintessential chronicler of high society. After serving as a war photographer, Aarons turned his lens to a new landscape: the glamorous lives of Hollywood elites, Palm Beach socialites, and jet-setting debutantes and princes. His work for society publications captured an aspirational world of leisure and luxury that defined the American upper class throughout the mid-20th century, creating images that remain timeless symbols of sophistication and style. Every piece in our unique Slim Aarons collection is meticulously handcrafted using archival materials and printed on premium, luster photographic paper with environmentally safe inks, custom framed by skilled artisans who ensure that each work of art meets the exacting standards befitting such an iconic photograph.

The artist, David Brown, studied and received his fine arts training at California State University of Long Beach and graduated with a BFA in drawing and painting in 2018. As a child, he watched his older brother draw and recalls wanting to draw just like him when he grew up. David currently lives in Long Beach, California, and has been lucky to show his work in multiple group shows and a few solo shows, mostly based in the Los Angeles area. His traditional work includes oil, charcoal, and graphite. He is strongly influenced by Renaissance, Baroque, and a lot of today’s contemporary work. David’s work is predominately focused on the human figure. "People are my inspiration. I love learning people’s stories and try to capture the sitter’s narrative through my drawings/paintings. I love drawing people from life, I feel that my work focuses on the relationship between artist and model". His art is his one true passion and he believes that, "artists are super sensitive and emotional human beings, our work is a physical representation of our thoughts and emotions, a diary that we choose to share with the world".

Into the Labyrinth 1 is an intriguing work on canvas that considers the realm of hyperabstraction. Transformative power is achieved by the clever use of reflected and refracted light, creating dynamic movement as well as a sense of deep depth. The dreamlike motif is interrupted by intentionally visible brushwork. A unique color palette in shades of lilac, grape, and cerulean fills the picture plane, while a stroke of illuminated white pierces the composition providing the gaze with a sharp focal point. An engaging addition to Art by TA, Into the Labyrinth 1 is a masterful study of color, light, and technique.

"Christmas Swim," captured by Slim Aarons on January 1, 1954, at a Hollywood Hills residence in Los Angeles, California, encapsulates the whimsical glamour of mid-century high society. This iconic photograph features Rita Aarons, the photographer’s wife, floating gracefully in a pool adorned with festive baubles and a Christmas tree anchored to the pool’s floor, topped with a glinting star, while two children play with floating ornaments nearby and the Hollywood sign looms in the distance. The un-staged scene, blending festive cheer with sunlit sophistication, reflects the era’s playful yet luxurious lifestyle, with Rita’s poised presence in a cold, dirty pool—endured for the perfect shot—making this image a cultural touchstone that continues to charm holiday and art enthusiasts alike. Slim Aarons (1916–2006), born George Allen Aarons, rose from humble origins and World War II combat photography to become a celebrated chronicler of the elite, vowing post-war to photograph only "attractive people doing attractive things in attractive places," with his works gracing magazines like Town & Country and now preserved in the Getty Images archive. This exquisite reproduction from Soicher Marin is printed on premium luster photo paper using state-of-the-art techniques, ensuring vibrant colors, sharp details, and enduring quality that brings a touch of mid-century sophistication to any space.

Show off your personality while making an impactful statement to your décor with these stunning museum-quality art pieces. Each piece is printed in ultra-high resolution on your choice of premium ultra-HD metallic photo paper back-mounted under transparent acrylic glass or a high-definition print directly on high-quality diamond pearl white aluminum. Both results are a completely realistic ultra-HD photo print that has vivid colors, bold contrasts, is UV protected, and is halftone-free. All pieces are backed with aluminum framing which creates a floating effect and comes ready to hang. Differences between acrylic and aluminum: First thing to note is that you can’t go wrong with either medium! In general, the aluminum/ metal prints have a matte finish in comparison to the acrylic gloss finish. HD acrylic: On 1/4" acrylic pieces the image is back-mounted under the acrylic. The optical transparent acrylic glass enhances the effect of depth and brings out the metallic UltraHD photo print’s exact contours and details for a stunning 3D effect. Because the image is printed using metallic UltraHD photo paper, this format will give you sharper lines and edges at higher resolutions. There is a reflective property with acrylic which light refracts through the acrylic glass, giving your photos substance and depth, as well as superb image quality from edge to edge. Also notable is that all our acrylic art piece’s edges are hand diamond polished to capture the surrounding light. HD metal: On the metal pieces the image is printed/infused directly on diamond pearl white aluminum. The diamond-pearl aluminum creates a stunning shimmer with a satin seen enhancing the reflective properties of the image. Images appear crisp and are very visible in brightly light areas while maintaining an overall metallic sheen. All our metal prints are made of weather-resistant material, exhibiting impressive color intensity using UV Color protected technology. A native of Tacoma, Washington, Tim Klein is a commercial/editorial photographer. His career spans almost 20 years, and he has worked very successfully with esteemed magazines and Fortune 500 companies such as Apple, Discovery Channel, Forbes, The New Yorker, and Smithsonian Magazine. He shoots with a variety of cameras but prefers his Leica. “My photography is inspired by people, places, and things. I was trained as a photojournalist so I find inspiration everywhere — from my travels abroad to my own backyard. My biggest source of inspiration is light, especially the way it can dramatically change a scene. I love the glow of morning light through fog, the graphic shadows of noon light, the light of an overcast day, and the dramatic rosecolored light at sunset. I am fascinated by people and their stories — from celebrities and people overcoming a life-changing obstacle, to simple loving moments between a parent and their child. There is so much beauty in everyday life. I meet so many people from drastically different backgrounds and all of them inspire me tell their stories with photography. I am also drawn to nature, from vast open landscapes, to intricate details and patterns. The experience of really noticing the world around me is the greatest inspiration of all.” Tim currently lives and works in Chicago, Illinois.
