This vibrant 1975 scene at La Concha Beach Club in Acapulco, Mexico, epitomizes the effortless glamour and leisure of the mid-1970s elite. The sun-drenched setting, with bathers reclining on a striped floating platform and shaded by tropical palms, captures a moment of relaxed luxury amid one of Mexico’s most coveted coastal retreats. La Concha was a favored destination for jet-setters seeking sun, sea, and sophisticated socializing during an era defined by opulence and carefree elegance. This image preserves the spirit of a bygone time when resort culture flourished and high society embraced the pleasures of seaside leisure. Slim Aarons, renowned for his evocative photographs of, as he described it, "attractive people doing attractive things in attractive places," was the quintessential chronicler of high society. His work for society publications captured an aspirational world of leisure and luxury that defined the American upper class throughout the mid-20th century, creating images that remain timeless symbols of sophistication and style. Although born and raised in Los Angeles, Artist Van Garrett has been heavily influenced by traveling abroad to a multitude of countries, especially Iceland. Music is a big part of his life and it sparked his creativity even before he began painting. In fact, Van did not begin painting until he was in college and he is self-taught. “Art was something that was always in my genes. It makes me happy. I believe that every artist leaves a piece of themselves in their artwork. In turn, it makes me happy when people get to own part of those pieces to share with the world”. Van prefers working in liquid acrylics and watercolors because of their fluidity. “I like how the colors flow. I like to observe how the different shapes and mixtures come alive”. Van finds animals, humans, and nature are his favorite subjects to paint. He is inspired by nature, people, and music. When not painting, Van runs marathons, travels, and plays the guitar.

This exquisite photograph captures the epitome of 1970s alpine sophistication, featuring Mrs Alfredo Cernadas reclining on a balcony in Gstaad during the height of the Swiss resort's golden age as the premier destination for the international jet set. Artist Mia Malcolm Studio is a furniture designer and award-winning interior decorator who designs the spacious residential interiors of fortune 500 CEOs, leading Hollywood producers, actors, Olympic athletes, and others across the nation. Marissa won widespread acclaim for creating unique, environmentally-friendly furniture pieces, each of which is offered with the use of reclaimed wood. She curates a collection of designs from her prestigious client base and includes them in her furniture line. Marissa, the mother of two, established her company, Mia Malcolm, around the idea that furniture is an art and that it's important to add logic to the luxury lifestyle. She was motivated to launch the company partly by her fearless independence and partly by her artistic instinct and upbringing. I grew up with a paintbrush in one hand and a hammer in the other, says Mia, a self-made and self-taught success who was influenced early on by her mother, a designer, and father, a contractor. I can't imagine allowing someone to alter my perspective on the play of shape and color.
