I was so excited about this but it arrived and looks totally different in person. I expected a watercolor canvas but it has a shiny finish on it that makes it look cheap and not at all made to order. The finish ruins what is otherwise a gorgeous print. Totally disappointed and will not be buying art from Perigold again.. Caroline. Harrison, NY. Sun Oct 27 2024

Artist Janice Sadler created her painting series in watercolor as an ode to her Southern California home. She particularly enjoys this medium because the subtle colors intermingle, wash, and flow into each other to evolve into new hues. Inspired by the ocean and local flora, this series is ideally suited to recreating the visual flavor of the seaside.

Austin Beiv grew up in the tough streets of Brooklyn. Where the expression of one’s self was usually done through wall tagging, or as we say in Italian "graffito". Austin was influenced by many different artists particularly Fernando Carlo. Fernando was well known for his expressive graffiti. The influence from Austin’s childhood is where the edge and contemporary look comes from in his art pieces. Austin graduated from Pratt Institute in the early ’90s. Austin now travels all over America to look for inspirations whether it’s a tagged wall or an art museum. Austin loves to embrace all the unique and expressive simplicities life offers.

This iconic photograph captures American writer C.Z. Guest (Mrs F.C. Winston Guest, 1920 - 2003) and her son Alexander Michael Douglas Dudley Guest in front of their Grecian temple pool on the ocean-front estate, Villa Artemis, Palm Beach in January 1955. The image epitomizes the sophisticated leisure culture and refined elegance that defined Palm Beach's golden age as America's premier winter resort destination during the mid-1950s. Depicting one of America's classic beauties who was named to the International Best Dressed Hall of Fame List in 1959 in her element at the magnificent estate designed in 1916 by architect F. Burrall Hoffman, who also designed Villa Vizcaya, this photograph captures the essence of American high society at its most authentic and aspirational. The scene embodies the patrician beauty and sporty, outdoorsy aesthetic that defined socially registered enclaves like Palm Beach, where C.Z. Guest became a fashion icon with her unfussy, clean-cut style that was seen as typically American. This image represents the perfect synthesis of old-world architectural grandeur and new-world glamour that made Palm Beach the ultimate destination for America's social elite. Slim Aarons, renowned for his evocative photographs of, as he described it, "attractive people doing attractive things in attractive places," was the quintessential chronicler of high society. After serving as a war photographer, Aarons turned his lens to a new landscape: the glamorous lives of Hollywood elites, Palm Beach socialites, and jet-setting debutantes and princes. His work for society publications captured an aspirational world of leisure and luxury that defined the American upper class throughout the mid-20th century, creating images that remain timeless symbols of sophistication and style. Every piece in our unique Slim Aarons collection is meticulously handcrafted using archival materials and printed on premium, luster photographic paper with environmentally safe inks, custom framed by skilled artisans who ensure that each work of art meets the exacting standards befitting such an iconic photograph.

Few landmarks are more emblematic of midcentury glamour than the Beverly Hills Hotel in the 1950s. Captured in 1957, this photograph offers a quintessential view of Hollywood luxury, with vintage cars lined up beneath towering palms and the hotel’s iconic signage gleaming against the California sky. As a favorite retreat for film stars and studio moguls, the Pink Palace on Sunset Boulevard stood as a sanctuary of style, exclusivity, and West Coast sophistication. This image distills the spirit of an era when Beverly Hills was not just a destination but a cultural symbol of elegance and aspiration. Guseul Park was born and raised in Korea and studied ceramics in college; however, she was always drawn to painting and drawing and is a self-taught artist. “Art means meditation to me. By creating art, I get to go explore the deepest side of me and examine my state of mind. Creating art always brought me to a state of pure joy. It is the place in which I can be myself.” Her favorite medium to use is a pencil, which she describes as “back-to-basics art.” She finds inspiration in daily strolls and travel.
