This delightful photograph captures a gathering of young matrons in Palm Beach, Florida, elegantly dressed in the vibrant, colorful Lilly Pulitzer shift dresses that defined the height of resort fashion sophistication in April 1964. The women are wearing the signature "gaily coloured Lilly Pulitzer shift" that had become the unofficial uniform of Palm Beach society, embodying the carefree elegance of America's most exclusive resort destination. This photograph captures the pivotal moment when Lilly Pulitzer's bright printed cotton shifts had transformed from juice stand practicality into high society fashion following Jackie Kennedy's endorsement, representing the birth of American resort wear. Aarons masterfully documents the cultural phenomenon that was Palm Beach in the mid-1960s, where the casual elegance of country club life merged with tropical glamour to create a new aesthetic that defied conventional fashion rules. This scene embodies the sophisticated leisure culture that made Palm Beach the playground for America's elite families including the Kennedys, Rockefellers, and Whitneys, where "floridly bright and dazzlingly patterned shifts" became synonymous with refined casual chic. The image represents the essence of 1960s high society's embrace of color, comfort, and tropical sophistication that would influence American fashion for decades to come. Slim Aarons, renowned for his evocative photographs of, as he described it, "attractive people doing attractive things in attractive places," was the quintessential chronicler of high society. After serving as a war photographer, Aarons turned his lens to a new landscape: the glamorous lives of Hollywood elites, Palm Beach socialites, and jet-setting debutantes and princes. His work for society publications captured an aspirational world of leisure and luxury that defined the American upper class throughout the mid-20th century, creating images that remain timeless symbols of sophistication and style. Every piece in our unique Slim Aarons collection is meticulously handcrafted using archival materials and printed on premium, luster photographic paper with environmentally safe inks, custom framed by skilled artisans who ensure that each work of art meets the exacting standards befitting such an iconic photograph.

"Snowmass Picnic," captured by Slim Aarons in January 1967 amid the pristine slopes of Snowmass-at-Aspen, Colorado, evokes the joyous camaraderie of alpine high society. This enchanting photograph portrays a stand-up fondue picnic for skiers, with hot food elegantly helicoptered in by Holiday magazine, where notable guests like Howard Head of the Head Ski Company, IBM president Thomas Watson Jr. and his wife Olive, Norwegian Olympic skier Stein Eriksen, and restaurateur Armando Orsini gather in the fresh snowfields, their laughter and stylish winter attire harmonizing with the vast trails of the newly opened village. The scene captures the heart of 1960s winter leisure, weaving adventurous spirit with refined indulgence, evoking a timeless romance that continues to enchant lovers of snowy escapades and sophisticated gatherings. This exquisite reproduction from Soicher Marin is printed on premium luster photo paper using state-of-the-art techniques, ensuring vibrant colors, sharp details, and enduring quality that brings a touch of mid-century sophistication to any space.

This iconic photograph captures women of Palm Beach wearing designs by Lilly Pulitzer for a fashion shoot at 400 South Ocean Boulevard, Palm Beach, Florida, in 1964. The image features Lilly Pulitzer herself in the back row, third from left, along with New York socialite and artist Wendy Vanderbilt prominently seated in the front row wearing a yellow dress with pink headscarf. This legendary photograph, often referred to as "The Young Matrons of Palm Beach," became one of the most celebrated fashion images of the 1960s, showcasing the vibrant shift dresses that would define American resort wear for generations. By 1964, Lilly Pulitzer's colorful shift dresses had transformed from a practical solution for her juice stand uniform into a fashion phenomenon that captured the essence of Palm Beach's sophisticated yet relaxed lifestyle. The whimsical prints featured in this photograph were created by artist Suzie Zuzek at Key West Hand Print Fabrics, whose imaginative designs of tropical motifs and bold patterns became synonymous with the Lilly Pulitzer brand. This fashion shoot represented the pinnacle of 1960s American resort fashion, where the carefree elegance of Palm Beach society converged with revolutionary design to create a distinctly American aesthetic that would influence fashion for decades to come. Show off your personality while making an impactful statement to your décor with these stunning museum-quality art pieces. Each piece is printed in ultra-high resolution on your choice of premium ultra-HD metallic photo paper back-mounted under transparent acrylic glass or a high-definition print directly on high-quality diamond pearl white aluminum. Both results are a completely realistic ultra-HD photo print that has vivid colors, bold contrasts, is UV protected, and is halftone-free. All pieces are backed with aluminum framing which creates a floating effect and comes ready to hang. Differences between Acrylic and Aluminum: First thing to note is that you can’t go wrong with either medium! HD Acrylic: On 1/4″ acrylic pieces the image is back-mounted under the acrylic. The optical transparent acrylic glass enhances the effect of depth and brings out the metallic UltraHD photo print’s exact contours and details for a stunning 3D effect. Because the image is printed using metallic UltraHD photo paper, this format will give you sharper lines and edges at higher resolutions. There is a reflective property with acrylic in which light refracts through the acrylic glass, giving your photos substance and depth, as well as superb image quality from edge to edge. Also notable is that all our acrylic art piece’s edges are hand diamond polished to capture the surrounding light. HD Metal: On the metal pieces the image is printed/infused directly on diamond pearl white aluminum. The diamond-pearl aluminum creates a stunning shimmer with a satin seen enhancing the reflective properties of the image. Images appear crisp and are very visible in brightly light areas while maintaining an overall metallic sheen. All our metal prints are made of weather-resistant material, exhibiting impressive color intensity using UV Color protected technology. This makes it suitable for outdoor areas or bathrooms and comes ready to hang.

Originally from Southern California, Ryann now lives in Austin, TX. At 12 or 13, her dad pulled out his old Pentax Spotmatic from Vietnam, and Ryann was immediately enthralled and determined to learn enough to create a photo. In high school, she fell in love with photography and soon after enrolled at the renowned Brooks Institute of Photography in Santa Barbara, where she earned a BA in Photography, majoring in architecture. When creating personal work, she does not think about how the images she's creating will be perceived by others and only shoots what she's drawn to. When asked what she's most influenced by, Ryann states: "I’ve long been drawn to the American Southwest and forgotten places - that still holds true today, nearly 20 years after first picking up a camera. I’ve always been drawn to the outdoors and landscapes, but I’m especially interested in the landscape that has been manipulated and left behind by a man."
