Echoing the design language of our Melt entry table, the Melt wall decor's decorative smoke wood armature supports a cascade of hand-formed petals in white gesso-plated iron, strung in a series of vertical rods. A study in material contrast and diverse movement, this compelling piece suits a wide range of spaces. The finish will vary.

This mask, skillfully hewn by Robert Nortey and the artisans of Robanty Limited, symbolizes courage. Rendered in the style of the Baoule people of Cote d'ivoire, the face suggests an ancient warrior, who fought persistently to revenge the death of others despite having shed his own blood. His tongue hangs out in an expression of bright red, representing the sufferings of his people. Brass plates adorn the nose, cheeks, and forehead, complementing the rich grain of hand-carved sese wood, finished in dark tan and black polish.

Rita Addo Zakour demonstrates her creative skills with this delightful African mask. Covered by symmetrical motifs, the face depicts a demure and beautiful woman. The piece is carved by hand from native sese wood and richly embellished with embossed aluminum and brass. Its style comes from the people of Cote d'Ivoire and Liberia.

Salihu Ibrahim crafts a striking mask intended to protect and fight evil where it hangs. He calls the mask Toura, which in the language of Ghana's Hausa people means "Strong." Ibrahim crafts the mask by hand with sese wood featuring a jute hair and beard, as well as a headdress trimmed with raffia. Red cotton threads trim the aluminum mask over the large, expressive eyes.

Carved by hand from native sese wood, this handsome mask is an original design by Awudu Saaed. Wide eyes suggest those of an owl, gazing longingly toward the sky. Enhanced with embossed aluminum, the mask is named <i>Looflo</i> – 'Bird' in the Ga language. <br><br>The mask is designed for wall display only and cannot stand on its own.
