Metal Red Wall Accents

Made from honey drums, this wall piece tells the sweet story of the people who collect honey in Northern Thailand and an interpretation of the clothing they wear. The drums can only be used a handful of times before they oxidize. In repurposing the metal, they are able to bring in an additional source of income beyond the bees they rely on to produce the honey. This recycled art is not only great on any wall, but it also has a beautiful story behind it.

I’ve spent many nights working from dusk until dawn, and so much attention is paid to the dawn. Dusk, is the time of day when my work starts - inspiration flows and I cut glass and place it onto metal. Experimenting all night with new ideas, new forms, new materials. Dusk is the beginning for many artists, not just the end of the day. This glass and metal wall sculpture represents beginnings as much as it symbolizes an ending.

While visiting Japan and experiencing all of its beauty, I found myself in a moment of absolute presence on top of a mountain, when my eyes made contact with sunset so beautiful that I realized I had to do everything in my power to capture it. Once I was back in my studio I immediately started sketching and designing Sunset. The challenge of capturing a moment of pure presence, translating a moment into a glass and metal wall sculpture to be displayed forever presented me with an opportunity to create something truly powerful - like a Sunset in a far-off land.

Hypnotized by the dance of the flame, I felt a deep, burning passion run through my veins as if the fire itself had replaced my blood. The power overtook me and created a new purpose for my hands: To serve this Inferno. To bring it to life. To capture it. To share it.

Sedona is famous for its Red Rocks, underneath it is all a heart. The heart of the land. Creating what is referred to as Vortex sites, that are said to heal people. Sedona was inspired by the land and its fabled history. The intertwined shades of red reflect on Sedona, Arizona’s limitless landscape and heartbeat.
