Lightweight Multicolor Fabric By The Yard

Palampore is the Hindi word for bed hanging and refers to Indian printed textiles created for bed draperies in the eighteenth century. Such bed hangings were highly prized and featured a tree of life design with abundant flowers and pomegranates. Our new interpretation of this classic and graceful pattern is embroidered in colorful threads against a medium weight of linen.

London-based fashion duo Clements Ribeiro created Daisy Chain in homage to a vintage 1970s print that instantly transported them to their childhood bedrooms. Vaguely psychedelic, the medium-scale fabric is a trippy landscape of rolling hills and seas made of beads and daisy chains. Also available as wallpaper.

This lively hand block print was first created in 1922 and features a stylized tree of life of flowers and foliage. Each color within the design requires several blocks, for a total of 46 for each individual repeat, and the print uses 138 blocks to produce just one full-width yard of fabric.

This richly embellished embroidery is derived from a classic Indienne tree of life or palampore design. The exotic flowers and foliage are interpreted with intricately stitched detail, including raised hand-knotted and hand-stitched accents. The palette ranges from garden-inspired brights to softer neutrals and crisp porcelain blues. The dramatic scale is ideal for floor-length curtains.

This whimsical interpretation of fantastical flora is close to the reality of the otherworldly plants in nature. Embroidered on linen cotton in popping primary and deep mystical colors, Greenhouse has an array of shades to outfit any room with decorative panels.

Inspired by a broad collar belonging to an ancient Egyptian noblewoman named Senebtisi, this tape mimics the brilliant colors and design intricacy seen on The Met’s adornment from the Middle Kingdom. In the early Egyptian dynasties, jewelry was made of colored pebbles. These were gradually replaced by glazed beads and semiprecious stones such as turquoise and carnelian, both of which are displayed on this collar in a linear pattern along with two falcon heads, which symbolize divine kingship. This trim is embroidered on a linen ground with multicolor viscose and intricate beading to add depth and elegance.
