Immerse yourself in the timeless allure of Slim Aarons' "Poolside Gossip," captured in January 1970 at the iconic Kaufmann Desert House in Palm Springs, California—a modernist masterpiece designed by architect Richard Neutra for department store magnate Edgar J. Kaufmann. This vibrant photograph depicts former model and homeowner Nelda Linsk (seated right, in a striking yellow outfit), wife of art dealer Joseph Linsk, engaged in lively conversation with her friend Helen Dzo Dzo Kaptur (left), as actress Lita Baron approaches from behind, cocktail in hand, against a backdrop of the sparkling turquoise pool, lush desert landscaping, and the majestic San Jacinto Mountains. Epitomizing the carefree glamour of mid-20th-century high society, the un-staged scene reflects the era's leisure and elegance, with the subjects' relaxed poses and colorful attire symbolizing an aspirational lifestyle that has made this image a cultural icon, even inspiring recreations decades later. Slim Aarons (1916–2006), born George Allen Aarons, rose from humble origins and World War II combat photography to become a celebrated chronicler of the elite, vowing post-war to photograph only "attractive people doing attractive things in attractive places," with his works gracing magazines like Town & Country and now preserved in the Getty Images archive. This exquisite reproduction from Soicher Marin is printed on premium luster photo paper using state-of-the-art techniques, ensuring vibrant colors, sharp details, and enduring quality that brings a touch of mid-century sophistication to any space.

Show off your personality while making an impactful statement to your décor with these stunning museum-quality art pieces. Each piece is printed in ultra-high resolution on your choice of premium ultra-HD metallic photo paper back-mounted under transparent acrylic glass or a high-definition print directly on high-quality diamond pearl white aluminum. Both results are a completely realistic ultra-HD photo print that has vivid colors, bold contrasts, is UV protected, and is halftone-free. All pieces are backed with aluminum framing which creates a floating effect and comes ready to hang. Differences between Acrylic and Aluminum: First thing to note is that you can’t go wrong with either medium!HD Acrylic: On 1/4″ acrylic pieces the image is back-mounted under the acrylic. The optical transparent acrylic glass enhances the effect of depth and brings out the metallic UltraHD photo print’s exact contours and details for a stunning 3D effect. Because the image is printed using metallic UltraHD photo paper, this format will give you sharper lines and edges at higher resolutions. There is a reflective property with acrylic in which light refracts through the acrylic glass, giving your photos substance and depth, as well as superb image quality from edge to edge. Also notable is that all our acrylic art piece edges are hand diamond polished to capture the surrounding light. HD Metal: On the metal pieces the image is printed/infused directly on diamond pearl white aluminum. The diamond-pearl aluminum creates a stunning shimmer with a satin seen enhancing the reflective properties of the image. Images appear crisp and are very visible in brightly light areas while maintaining an overall metallic sheen. All our metal prints are made of weather-resistant material, exhibiting impressive color intensity using UV Color protected technology. This makes it suitable for outdoor areas or bathrooms and comes ready to hang.

This captivating photograph captures the idyllic leisure atmosphere at the legendary Tahoe Tavern on the shores of Lake Tahoe, California, in 1959. The image showcases the resort during its final golden years as one of America's premier mountain destinations, where bathers enjoyed the perfect combination of alpine grandeur and sophisticated hospitality that defined the Sierra Nevada's most celebrated luxury retreat. Depicting the timeless allure of American mountain resort culture, this photograph embodies the vision of timber baron Duane L. Bliss, who transformed Lake Tahoe into an international playground for discerning travelers seeking "primitive simplicity with twentieth century luxury." The scene represents the culmination of nearly sixty years of refined hospitality, where the Tahoe Tavern served as "the finest hostelry between San Francisco and the Rockies," attracting guests from across the United States and Europe who arrived via the resort's own narrow-gauge railroad and elegant steamship service to experience the unparalleled beauty of America's most spectacular alpine lake. Slim Aarons, renowned for his evocative photographs of, as he described it, "attractive people doing attractive things in attractive places," was the quintessential chronicler of high society. After serving as a war photographer, Aarons turned his lens to a new landscape: the glamorous lives of Hollywood elites, Palm Beach socialites, and jet-setting debutantes and princes. His work for society publications captured an aspirational world of leisure and luxury that defined the American upper class throughout the mid-20th century, creating images that remain timeless symbols of sophistication and style. Every piece in our unique Slim Aarons collection is meticulously handcrafted using archival materials and printed on premium, luster photographic paper with environmentally safe inks, custom framed by skilled artisans who ensure that each work of art meets the exacting standards befitting such an iconic photograph.

The artist, David Brown, studied and received his fine arts training at California State University of Long Beach and graduated with a BFA in drawing and painting in 2018. As a child, he watched his older brother draw and recalls wanting to draw just like him when he grew up. David currently lives in Long Beach, California, and has been lucky to show his work in multiple group shows and a few solo shows, mostly based in the Los Angeles area. His traditional work includes oil, charcoal, and graphite. He is strongly influenced by Renaissance, Baroque, and a lot of today’s contemporary work. David’s work is predominately focused on the human figure. "People are my inspiration. I love learning people’s stories and try to capture the sitter’s narrative through my drawings/paintings. I love drawing people from life, I feel that my work focuses on the relationship between artist and model". His art is his one true passion and he believes that, "artists are super sensitive and emotional human beings, our work is a physical representation of our thoughts and emotions, a diary that we choose to share with the world".

"Snowmass Picnic," captured by Slim Aarons in January 1967 amid the pristine slopes of Snowmass-at-Aspen, Colorado, evokes the joyous camaraderie of alpine high society. This sophisticated photograph captures a woman elegantly watching a poolside fashion show at the Colony Hotel in Palm Beach, Florida, on January 1, 1961. The image perfectly embodies the leisurely glamour that defined Palm Beach's social season, where fashion and lifestyle converged in the most exclusive settings. The Colony Hotel's poolside fashion shows were legendary events that attracted the social elite, creating the perfect backdrop for Aarons to document the intersection of high fashion and resort culture that characterized the early 1960s. The Colony Hotel, Palm Beach's iconic "Pink Paradise" established in 1947, served as the epicenter of sophisticated social life for international jet-setters, royalty, and Hollywood celebrities. By 1961, the hotel had become renowned for hosting exclusive poolside fashion shows that showcased the latest resort wear to an audience of discerning socialites and fashion enthusiasts. These events represented the pinnacle of Palm Beach's cultural calendar, where guests could experience the latest trends while enjoying the hotel's legendary hospitality and stunning oceanfront setting that made it a favorite retreat for luminaries including President John F. Kennedy, Judy Garland, and Frank Sinatra. This iconic photograph captures ladies by the pool at the Kaufmann Desert House in Palm Springs, California, January 1970. From right to left, former fashion model Helen Dzo Dzo Kaptur (in white lace), unknown, Nelda Linsk (in yellow), wife of art dealer Joseph Linsk, and actress Lita Baron (in the white sunhat). The Linsks are the current owners of the house. The image epitomizes the sophisticated leisure culture and Desert Modernism aesthetic that defined Palm Springs' golden age as Hollywood's exclusive desert playground during the early 1970s. Depicting stylish socialites enjoying a leisurely afternoon at Richard Neutra's architectural marvel designed in 1946 for Edgar J. Kaufmann, Sr., the house has been described as "an architectural marvel that helped define the modernist aesthetic of the resort city of Palm Springs," this photograph captures the essence of California's jet-set lifestyle at its most glamorous. The scene embodies the relaxed, moneyed allure of Palm Springs in the 60s and 70s, when it served as the perfect hideaway for the glitterati - close enough to the LA studios, far enough from the paparazzi's clicking cameras. This image represents the perfect fusion of modernist architecture and Hollywood glamour that made Palm Springs the ultimate desert retreat for America's cultural elite. Slim Aarons, renowned for his evocative photographs of, as he described it, "attractive people doing attractive things in attractive places," was the quintessential chronicler of high society.
