Safar is an exquisite new design inspired by an African baule cloth found in the archive. A complex design the ikat warp has been printed with embroidery added. Adding to Safar`s unique nature the yarns are screen printed before being woven into the weft and then embroidered creating a wonderfully detailed design where the intricate yarn-dying technique comes through beautifully.
Meaning `traveller` Musafir inspired by an archive document is an ikat warp-printed mark alternating with a large stripe. Musafir is a lighter finer cloth to complement the colourways. In this design the ikat creates a play on a floral like a flower bud.
