D’Alessandro Léon was the youngest of three brothers. When art competitions were a form of play for the brothers, it later grew to his obsession. D’Alessandro attended the Art Institute of California where he explored mixing mediums as well as digital. He also attended illustration, Sculpting, and Fine Art workshops. After spending long periods of time studying different techniques, D’Alessandro’s art became increasingly influenced by artists from the early 1900s. During D’Alessandro’s studies, he painted many different themes. He painted with restless intensity, often painting from morning until night. The item itself seems well made, but seems to be a lot plainer in person than the pictures showing on Wayfair. I selected this one at a higher price and really long lead/shipping time (2-3months), over a similar picture, due to the description stating this print had “Extra Added Texture” hand applied after printed. The painting I received does not have any texture to it that I can tell. It feels like a print with a clear coat. It did arrive 1 month earlier than the delivery date, which normally would have been appreciated, but I happened to be out of town for 2 weeks when it arrived on our porch. Maybe that is why it was early….texture didn’t get applied? I didn’t want to go through the hassle of returning, so I will keep it and maybe try adding some texture and sparkle to it myself, so it stands out a little more.
