Set against the majestic peaks of the Swiss Alps, this 1964 photograph, "Lounging in Verbier", captures a vibrant winter scene in Verbier, Switzerland, a rising star in the world of alpine sports during the mid-twentieth century. Nestled in the canton of Valais, Verbier was beginning to attract a spirited, adventurous crowd drawn to its expansive slopes and youthful energy. The sunlit gathering of skiers and loungers, framed by towering mountains, reflects a moment when the post-war generation embraced the mountains not just for sport, but for community and escape. In this image, Verbier stands on the cusp of becoming an icon, where snow and sun combined to create a distinctly modern alpine lifestyle. Slim Aarons, renowned for his evocative photographs of, as he described it, "attractive people doing attractive things in attractive places," was the quintessential chronicler of high society. After serving as a war photographer, Aarons turned his lens to a new landscape: the glamorous lives of Hollywood elites, Palm Beach socialites, and jet-setting debutantes and princes. His work for society publications captured an aspirational world of leisure and luxury that defined the American upper class throughout the mid-20th century, creating images that remain timeless symbols of sophistication and style. The photograph is presented as a high-resolution scan of the photo's original photographic slide, complete with hand-lettered archival notations along the mount. Offered exclusively by Soicher Marin, this edition preserves the full character of the original format, transforming it into a striking piece of wall art that merges history, authenticity, and timeless style. More than a photograph, it is a curated artifact of American cultural glamour, bringing a refined yet playful sophistication to any well-appointed interior. Every piece in our unique Slim Aarons collection is meticulously handcrafted using archival materials and printed on premium, luster photographic paper with environmentally safe inks, custom framed by skilled artisans who ensure that each work of art meets the exacting standards befitting such an iconic photograph.

The artist, Richard Ryder, developed an affinity towards art at an early age where he took every opportunity to incorporate art into his assignments. During his early years, while attending elementary school, he would doodle on the blank side of envelopes or any discarded paper. This drove his passion to pursue taking studio art courses while in high school & continued that pursuit through to four-year formal art education. As an artist that is heavily influenced by graphic design, Art Deco, and traditional animation, Richard aims to capture the beauty in whichever subject he is painting. He focuses on ways to exploit the basic elements of art to create a satisfying and cohesive design. As an artist, Richard seeks to improve and challenge himself. He states that “With the internet, I am constantly inspired by art either in the fine art or commercial field. It is this exposure that leads me to constantly explore different mediums and styles."
great piece, nice strokes, exactly as described. Very high quality painting. Ryan. Weston, MA. Sun Feb 25 2024

This vibrant and stylish photograph captures two women wearing brightly-colored skiwear standing in the foreground of a group of people attending a party in Snowmass Village, Pitkin County, Colorado, in April 1968. The scene showcases the sophisticated social gatherings that defined America's newest and most ambitious ski resort development, where the promise of European-style Alpine luxury was being realized in the dramatic Colorado Rockies just months after Snowmass's spectacular opening season. This captivating image embodies the pioneering spirit and glamorous social culture that characterized Snowmass during its inaugural years as America's most complete winter resort destination. The photograph captures the community during its remarkable transformation from pastoral Brush Creek Valley ranches into the country's largest and most ambitious ski village, designed to emulate the legendary Alpine resorts of Europe while establishing a distinctly American interpretation of mountain luxury. The scene represents the fulfillment of developer Bill Janss's extraordinary vision to create a ski resort that would rival Vail and any other destination in the world, where international sophistication met Colorado's rugged natural beauty in an unprecedented mountain community that attracted celebrities, socialites, and ski enthusiasts seeking the ultimate combination of world-class terrain, architectural innovation, and refined hospitality. This image perfectly captures the optimistic energy and social dynamism of Snowmass's early years, when the resort was setting new standards for mountain living and establishing itself as a premier destination for America's emerging ski elite. Allison Rietta's water-tinted colours create a sense of dappled light as she weaves them into patterns and shapes. Drawing on the mystic sound of her Himalayan singing bowls, pieces exude melodic vibrations in which colours transcend the visual into the auditory. Beginning with a single colour, she layers to control opacity, creating pieces that hold both “veildness” and “transparency.” One piece comes to life in a gesture of fire and frenzy—another, with delicate and deliberate attention. Allison Rietta grew up in Canada and studied art at the Ontario College of Art and Design in Toronto. Her professional life as a creative director behind her, Allsion is now able to spend her time away from a computer, working with paper and paintbrush. Curated in partnership with AllModern, this piece is printed on high quality art paper and professionally framed using award winning mouldings renowned for quality and design.

Svetlana Smirnova's fine art photography is a dialogue between color and form. She finds beauty in the ordinary, as witnessed in her unpackage series of simple packing papers that become sculptures in her eye. Urban landscapes become abstract compositions of harmony and balance. Svetlana herself balances life between commercial photography and fine art projects mirroring her philosophy of beauty in the ordinary and the extraordinary. Curated in partnership with AllModern, this piece is printed on high-quality art paper and professionally framed using award-winning moldings renowned for quality and design.

Bobby Berk Home
Artist Bobby Berk’s rise to bonafide “IT” status in the home design world has more in common with being a rock star than it does a contemporary designer. After working his way up in retail at Bed Bath and Beyond and Restoration Hardware to Creative Director at Portico Home + Spa, Berk decided that it was time he started his own brand. Since 2006, Bobby Berk Home's retail division has consistently provided customers with a unique approach to modern design. Epitomizing hip, minimalist urban luxury, Berk’s designs reflect a stylish and youthful spirit that perfectly fits any cool, relaxed lifestyle. Bobby brings a unique millennial viewpoint to the design industry, with substantial experience across many facets of the trade. With his extensive background in retail, manufacturing, interior design, and licensing, he is often invited to give lectures on a range of topics from the millennial demographic to streamlining furniture manufacturing and production processes at seminars and events across the globe.

Chris Dunker has photographed industrial culture for over two decades. His Father introduced photography to Chris at an early age. Chris attended Al Weber Workshops and classes at the community college where Chris’s Father taught photography. Dunker earned a Bachelor of Science in Applied Art and Design with a photography concentration and a minor in Philosophy from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo. In 1995 he completed a Masters of Fine Arts in photography from Utah State University. Chris grew up in China Lake, California which is in the isolated and remote high desert east of the Sierras. This austere and harsh environment is punctuated with mining outposts, rock art, and industrial-military structures, all influences of Dunker’s formative years. A strong interest in industrial music and performance groups like Survival Research Laboratories expanded his understanding of how industrial dynamics could be integrated into art forms and how an aesthetic could be derived from objects of utility. As an Assistant Professor of Photography at Utah State University, Dunker taught History of Photography and many other classes. Research in this field broadened his awareness of how photographers consider the role of industrial culture in relation to the human condition.
