Artist Commentary: My first teaching trip to CA exposed me to a very bright color selection and I brought back fabrics to make this piece because at that time, 1980's on the East Coast, available fabrics were much more muted.

Sweet Spot offers a compositional study of perspective and form. Tightly shot, the perspective is on tiered curvilinear lines in brilliant white framed against a teal-blue sky. Three-dimensional form is achieved by both the angle of the shot and the sheer mass of the structure. Strong contrasts and proportions add power to the overall composition with white lines standing in opposition to a field of solid color.
