This captivating photograph captures El Venero, the Moorish villa of Hector and Chico de Ayala in Marbella, Spain, in 1967. The image epitomizes the sophisticated international lifestyle that transformed Spain's Costa del Sol into Europe's most glamorous destination during the 1960s. Hector de Ayala, who served as Spanish ambassador, and his wife Chico created a haven of Andalusian elegance that attracted the European jet set to their exquisite Moorish-inspired retreat. Set against the dramatic backdrop of the La Concha mountains, El Venero represented the perfect fusion of Spanish architectural heritage and contemporary luxury living. This photograph captures the essence of Marbella's golden age, when the resort town evolved from a humble fishing village into the playground of international aristocracy, diplomats, and cultural luminaries who discovered the irresistible combination of Mediterranean climate, Moorish aesthetics, and Continental sophistication. Slim Aarons, renowned for his evocative photographs of, as he described it, "attractive people doing attractive things in attractive places," was the quintessential chronicler of high society. After serving as a war photographer, Aarons turned his lens to a new landscape: the glamorous lives of Hollywood elites, Palm Beach socialites, and jet-setting debutantes and princes. His work for society publications captured an aspirational world of leisure and luxury that defined the American upper class throughout the mid-20th century, creating images that remain timeless symbols of sophistication and style. Every piece in our unique Slim Aarons collection is meticulously handcrafted using archival materials and printed on premium, luster photographic paper with environmentally safe inks, custom framed by skilled artisans who ensure that each work of art meets the exacting standards befitting such an iconic photograph.

"Yacht Holiday," captured by Slim Aarons on January 1, 1967, off the sun-kissed coast of Marbella, Spain, evokes the languid splendor of Mediterranean leisure. This enchanting photograph portrays tanned bodies lounging gracefully on the deck of Dino Pecci Blunt's luxurious yacht, their relaxed forms bathed in golden sunlight against the shimmering azure waters and distant shoreline. The scene captures the heart of 1960s jet-set indulgence, weaving serene relaxation with refined sophistication, evoking a timeless romance that continues to enchant lovers of nautical glamour and coastal elegance. Slim Aarons (1916–2006), born George Allen Aarons, rose from humble origins and World War II combat photography to become a celebrated chronicler of the elite, vowing post-war to photograph only "attractive people doing attractive things in attractive places," with his works gracing magazines like Town & Country and now preserved in the Getty Images archive. This exquisite reproduction from Soicher Marin is printed on premium luster photo paper using state-of-the-art techniques, ensuring vibrant colors, sharp details, and enduring quality that brings a touch of mid-century sophistication to any space.

Laura Hawk, assistant to the photographer, relaxes by the pool at El Rincon, the von Pantz' Marbella home, September 1985 epitomizes the refined leisure culture of Spain's Costa del Sol during the golden era of international jet set society. The scene showcases the sophisticated lifestyle at the exclusive estate of Baron Hubert von Pantz and Baroness Terry von Pantz, the renowned Avon perfume fortune heiress who was known for over three decades in Marbella as "the hostess with the mostess," famous for her lavish parties that attracted aristocrats, celebrities, and European nobility to Spain's premier luxury destination. Marbella had become the most important new jet set destination in Europe, transforming from a simple fishing village into the Spanish Riviera where international elite gathered at exclusive retreats along the Costa del Sol. After graduating from Carnegie Mellon University in 1998, Blakely Bering put her studies in costume and set design to direct use by working in opera design and television production around the United States, before returning to her home of Texas. Transitioning from large-scale design to fine art was seamless and natural for her. Painting figurative abstractions and “Blooms” at first, Blakely’s art evolved into pure abstraction. Experimenting with techniques, mediums, and styles; the “Oil slick” developed in 2006, recognized as Blakely’s classic style. Reflecting on her theatrical sense, the artwork is powerful from thirty feet away. Inspired by her love of cooking, Blakely combines oils, powdered pigments, crushed metals, and secret ingredients, from scratch, to create her own paint mixtures. Her work is known not only for its beauty and sense of frozen movement but for its sustained ability over time.

The Artist, David Keochkerian, lives in Somme, France. He has a Ph.D. in human physiology and works in the field of physical medicine and rehabilitation. He’s been practicing photography for 5 years now, although he fell into the cauldron when he was a child: his father is now a retired photographer. He grew up with the smell of chemicals and the shutter snap and purr of his roller transport print processor. “I like to capture the fleeting, the subtle, the beautiful, the rare, the spectacular, the staggering… to reveal how the daily and the ordinary can be filled with enthusiasm.” His work is very heterogeneous. He uses and associates many photographic techniques (DRI, HDR, panoramic, Vertorama, long exposure), image renditions (color, B&W, infrared), and different themes (landscape, macro, light-painting, architecture, industry).

The artist, David Brown, studied and received his fine arts training at California State University of Long Beach and graduated with a BFA in Drawing and Painting in 2018. As a child, he watched his older brother draw and recalls wanting to draw just like him when he grew up. David currently lives in Long Beach, California, and has been lucky to show his work in multiple group shows and a few solo shows, mostly based in the Los Angeles area. His traditional work includes oil, charcoal, and graphite. He is strongly influenced by the Renaissance, Baroque, and a lot of today’s contemporary work. David’s work is predominately focused on the human figure. “People are my inspiration. I love learning people’s stories and trying to capture the sitter’s narrative through my drawings/paintings. I love drawing people from life, I feel that my work focuses on the relationship between artist and model”. His art is his one true passion and he believes that, “artists are super sensitive and emotional human beings, our work is a physical representation of our thoughts and emotions, a diary that we choose to share with the world”.
