Commonly referred to as frangipani, the fragrant tree was named after an Italian marquis from the Frangipani family, who created a perfume during the 16th Century that hinted at the flower. Originating from Central America and largely grown today across tropical regions around the globe, frangipani is an ornamental tree known for its fragrant white, yellow or pink flowers. This scent is an enveloping, comforting and solar perfume: fresh head notes of bergamot are followed by a bouquet of white flowers enhanced with a touch of vanilla that calls for the tropics.
