From 1969, this evocative photograph captures a sun-drenched moment at the Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc on the French Riviera, where sleek wooden speedboats line the pier in quiet anticipation. Set against the serene expanse of the Mediterranean Sea, the scene embodies the effortless glamour and leisurely sophistication that defined the Riviera lifestyle during this golden era. Waterskiers carve through the calm waters, weaving a narrative of freedom and exhilaration amid one of Europe’s most iconic luxury destinations. The image reflects a time when the hotel was a magnet for the world’s elite, blending natural beauty with a vibrant social culture. Slim Aarons, renowned for his evocative photographs of, as he described it, "attractive people doing attractive things in attractive places," was the quintessential chronicler of high society. After serving as a war photographer, Aarons turned his lens to a new landscape: the glamorous lives of Hollywood elites, Palm Beach socialites, and jet-setting debutantes and princes. His work for society publications captured an aspirational world of leisure and luxury that defined the American upper class throughout the mid-20th century, creating images that remain timeless symbols of sophistication and style. The photograph is presented as a high-resolution scan of the photo's original photographic slide, complete with hand-lettered archival notations along the mount. Offered exclusively by Soicher Marin, this edition preserves the full character of the original format, transforming it into a striking piece of wall art that merges history, authenticity, and timeless style. More than a photograph, it is a curated artifact of American cultural glamour, bringing a refined yet playful sophistication to any well-appointed interior. Every piece in our unique Slim Aarons collection is meticulously handcrafted using archival materials and printed on premium, luster photographic paper with environmentally safe inks, custom framed by skilled artisans who ensure that each work of art meets the exacting standards befitting such an iconic photograph.

Brad Ellis is a Texas-based artist whose focus is on abstract painting. Throughout his career, he has continually experimented with imagery from tightly rendered, systematic patterns to loosely constructed, expressionistic compositions. He has distinguished himself by embracing the ancient medium of encaustic which is hot wax painting and is a process by which heated beeswax is mixed with pigments and applied to board or canvas and then fused to the surface with a heat source. Brad approaches each new painting with the same consistency that he's employed for many years now which he referred to as “Pattern, Rhythm, and Process.” He typically starts each painting by building up layers of paper and/or fabric collage materials by cutting and mounting these pieces onto the canvas or board and arranging them in a way to form the underlying pattern of the painting. This helps lay the foundation for the initial imagery and paves the way for the applications of the other mediums.

An organic and instinctual painter, Artist Sarah Stockstill’s process relies on a foundation of several layers of texture that is applied and sanded back to get a smooth surface that lets her most immediate marks shine on the surface. Responding to color and forms, she follows as led. Sometimes into a deep horizon with traces of landscape, an organic jungle of pattern, a human figure, and every now and then an animal with an ethereal mystique. Sometimes the layering is broad, covering the entire canvas, and sometimes it is minute, focusing and embellishing a possible overlooked element of the painting which in turn becomes the center of interest. Most always layers are created and taken away, leaving small traces whose threads become more important for doing so.
I absolutely love this artwork. It's abstract and very interesting. The colors are soothing and works perfectly in my She-Shed. Love it!!!. Deloris. Wesley Chapel, FL. Mon Jun 17 2024

"Snowmass Picnic," captured by Slim Aarons in January 1967 amid the pristine slopes of Snowmass-at-Aspen, Colorado, evokes the joyous camaraderie of alpine high society. This enchanting photograph portrays a stand-up fondue picnic for skiers, with hot food elegantly helicoptered in by Holiday magazine, where notable guests like Howard Head of the Head Ski Company, IBM president Thomas Watson Jr. and his wife Olive, Norwegian Olympic skier Stein Eriksen, and restaurateur Armando Orsini gather in the fresh snowfields, their laughter and stylish winter attire harmonizing with the vast trails of the newly opened village. The scene captures the heart of 1960s winter leisure, weaving adventurous spirit with refined indulgence, evoking a timeless romance that continues to enchant lovers of snowy escapades and sophisticated gatherings. Slim Aarons (1916–2006), born George Allen Aarons, rose from humble origins and World War II combat photography to become a celebrated chronicler of the elite, vowing post-war to photograph only "attractive people doing attractive things in attractive places," with his works gracing magazines like Town & Country and now preserved in the Getty Images archive. This exquisite reproduction from Soicher Marin is printed on premium luster photo paper using state-of-the-art techniques, ensuring vibrant colors, sharp details, and enduring quality that brings a touch of mid-century sophistication to any space.

Set against the majestic peaks of the Swiss Alps, this 1964 photograph, "Lounging in Verbier", captures a vibrant winter scene in Verbier, Switzerland, a rising star in the world of alpine sports during the mid-twentieth century. Nestled in the canton of Valais, Verbier was beginning to attract a spirited, adventurous crowd drawn to its expansive slopes and youthful energy. The sunlit gathering of skiers and loungers, framed by towering mountains, reflects a moment when the post-war generation embraced the mountains not just for sport, but for community and escape. In this image, Verbier stands on the cusp of becoming an icon, where snow and sun combined to create a distinctly modern alpine lifestyle. Although born and raised in Los Angeles, artist Van Garrett has been heavily influenced by traveling abroad to a multitude of countries, especially Iceland. Music is a big part of his life and it sparked his creativity even before he began painting. In fact, Van did not begin painting until he was in college and he is self-taught. “Art was something that was always in my genes. It makes me happy. I believe that every artist leaves a piece of themselves in their artwork. In turn, it makes me happy when people get to own part of those pieces to share with the world.” Van prefers working in liquid acrylics and watercolors because of their fluidity. “I like how the colors flow. I like to observe how the different shapes and mixtures come alive.” Van finds animals, humans, and nature are his favorite subjects to paint. He is inspired by nature, people, and music. When not painting, Van runs marathons, travels and plays the guitar.
