The horse rug was originally developed at The Royal Military Clothing Factory, which produced textiles for the Danish Army, Navy, and the Guard Hussars. Originally intended to clothe army horses, this textile was adapted for use in furniture in the 1970s. It became a significant export success as the primary fabric for many iconic Danish design pieces. Danish Art Weaving took over production in 1995, and today FDB Møbler has renewed this cooperation to share the history of this famous textile with new generations.
