The artist layers watercolor to create a richness in color and add movement to an otherwise static piece. The color perfectly mimics the variation found in the fur of dogs and adds an abstracted touch to an otherwise traditional still life study.

The artist's use of pastels creates an ethereal landscape. The bright happy colors open up the painting, adding dimension and creating a sense of space. The warm highlights draw the viewer's attention without overpowering it.

This 1959 photograph, "Beauty and the Beast", offers a rare glimpse into the opulent interiors of Palm Beach high society, where glamour and eccentricity often intersected. Lady Daphne Cameron, poised atop a tiger skin rug in the trophy room of Laddie Sanford’s estate, personifies the elegance and theatricality that defined the social elite of the era. Set against a backdrop of lavish furnishings and curated grandeur, the image captures a moment where wealth, fashion, and exotic indulgence coalesced into a singular aesthetic vision that would come to define mid-century American aristocracy. Slim Aarons, renowned for his evocative photographs of, as he described it, "attractive people doing attractive things in attractive places," was the quintessential chronicler of high society. After serving as a war photographer, Aarons turned his lens to a new landscape: the glamorous lives of Hollywood elites, Palm Beach socialites, and jet-setting debutantes and princes. His work for society publications captured an aspirational world of leisure and luxury that defined the American upper class throughout the mid-20th century, creating images that remain timeless symbols of sophistication and style. The photograph is presented as a high-resolution scan of the photo's original photographic slide, complete with hand-lettered archival notations along the mount. Offered exclusively by Soicher Marin, this edition preserves the full character of the original format, transforming it into a striking piece of wall art that merges history, authenticity, and timeless style. More than a photograph, it is a curated artifact of American cultural glamour, bringing a refined yet playful sophistication to any well-appointed interior. Every piece in our unique Slim Aarons collection is meticulously handcrafted using archival materials and printed on premium, luster photographic paper with environmentally safe inks, custom framed by skilled artisans who ensure that each work of art meets the exacting standards befitting such an iconic photograph.

Captured in 1972, this vibrant image, "Poolside Backgammon", reflects the hedonistic glamour of Las Brisas, Acapulco, a hotspot for international elites during the golden age of jet-set leisure. Set at Villa Nirvana, the private estate of Mexican industrialist Oscar Obregón, the scene is a sun-soaked tableau of wealth, style, and leisure where guests lounge, socialize, and play poolside games against a backdrop of whitewashed architecture and panoramic views. As Mexico’s Pacific coast emerged as a playground for celebrities and aristocrats, this photograph epitomized the luxurious ease and carefree elegance that defined the era’s social elite. Chris Dunker has photographed industrial culture for over two decades. His Father introduced photography to Chris at an early age. Chris attended Al Weber Workshops and classes at the community college where Chris’s Father taught photography. Dunker earned a Bachelor of Science in Applied Art and Design with a photography concentration and a minor in Philosophy from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo. In 1995 he completed a Masters of Fine Arts in photography from Utah State University. Chris grew up in China Lake, California which is in the isolated and remote high desert east of the Sierras. This austere and harsh environment is punctuated with mining outposts, rock art, and industrial-military structures, all influences of Dunker’s formative years. A strong interest in industrial music and performance groups like Survival Research Laboratories expanded his understanding of how industrial dynamics could be integrated into art forms and how an aesthetic could be derived from objects of utility. As an Assistant Professor of Photography at Utah State University, Dunker taught History of Photography and many other classes. Research in this field broadened his awareness of how photographers consider the role of industrial culture in relation to the human condition.
