Elle Youngstrom was born in San Diego, CA. Elle is self-taught, and while she does not have any formal training, her grandfather was a great influence in her artistic career. Watercolor is her first love, but she also works with other textures and mediums. Elle utilizes her art creation as a way to express and communicate her feelings. He was influenced by many different artists, particularly Fernando Carlo, who was well known for his expressive graffiti. The influence from his childhood is where the edge and contemporary look come from in his art pieces. Austin graduated from Pratt Institute in the early ’90s and now travels all over America to look for inspiration, whether it’s a tagged wall or an art museum.
