Growing up in Chicago, Derek Shaw was inspired at a young age by the sights and sounds the Windy City had to offer. Jess has been painting with watercolors and oils on large canvases, small scraps of paper, and everything in between for as long as she can remember. She went to Savannah College of Art and Design, never thinking that one day she would “actually” become an artist. That took a bit longer to realize. But here she is, living the dream. Jess's mission is simple: to make beautiful work that makes people feel extraordinary. Her aesthetic is influenced by her African upbringing - using simple lines, rich colors, and organic shapes to capture life in every form. She believes the process is just as important as the outcome when she's inflow and she enjoys the process the work feels fresh, effortless, and alive. After she conceives a new idea she tries to spend some quality time with it - to let it sink in. Then usually the work comes out very quickly. If it doesn’t, she never forces it, she just goes outside for a bit, clears her head, and comes back later. It’s amazing what fresh air can do for perspective.

The prints are beautiful but the background is more pink than white which does not work in my room. When I tried to return these prints I was told they were non-returnable which was not specified when I purchased the prints. Turns out there are two ways to check out on the website. You can "review cart" or go directly to "check out now". If you click on "review cart" you are told the items are non-returnable. I clicked on "check out now" and there was no mention of the items being non-returnable. After several attempt to resolve this issue with customer service to no avail, I am stuck with two very expensive prints that I cannot use. Seems to me the website should be more transparent in communicating which items are non returnable regardless of the way you check out. I will not be buying anything from Perigold or Wayfair again..
