A long-time New Yorker, Dale Payson attended the School of Visual Arts over a ten-year span in the 1960s. She returned as an instructor in the early 1980s before moving on to freelance work in display design and book illustration; her work is found in more than twenty-five children's books. Ms. Payson's paintings have been exhibited in a number of galleries, from the 1980's to the present day. Corporate collectors include Nabisco and the University of Minnesota. This was extremely disappointing and was not an inexpensive purchase. The print I received was literally CROPPED. Instead of seeing the lighter peach color on the bottom portion and the green leaves of the fruit, it cut off both leaving three big, what appears to be "globs", of orange. Two different family members asked me what this print was supposed to be. The composition is entirely different than what was depicted on site. The inclusion of the leaves juxtaposed against the lighter peach surface on the bottom portion of the online print is balanced; without those inclusions, it is much less dynamic or artistic. Buyer beware. I was told when ordering this is non-returnable. I have no issue with a policy of non-returnable art, WHEN THE ART I'M PURCHASING IS ACTUALLY WHAT IS SHOWN AND DESCRIBED. I would not consider buying any art in the future from Perigold or John Beard in particular. Very unethical in my opinion.. Peggy. WI. Sun Sep 13 2026

Very nice items. Loved the look, but they were returned as they arrived damaged. There is limited packing material in the box and both frames were severely damaged, noticed right out of box. Customer service was great but would not order again due to shipping limitations.. Kim. Wed Sep 13 2023

Artist Commentary: These still life finger exercises are just that, a way to relax at the easel, to try to capture the essence, both emotional and figurative of something every day - flowers, shoes, kitchen objects, for both interest and pleasure. I paint them in the corners of my day - such a pleasure! Once I painted my shoes - and stupidly stepped into a bit of paint with my bare feet (don't try it at home!). But aside from such .... they are the interstices of my heart. I hope they touch yours.
