She studied illustration at Art Center College of Design where she developed her fundamental drawing and painting skills, as well as getting basic knowledge of technical programs. For Jean, art means lots of things. She thinks art is her language and a privilege given to her to express. It is also the way that she can communicate with the world in her own unique and personal way. Jean finds her inspiration in small things that make her excited. For example movies, a lazy day on a beach, and the silence of a rainy day. Although she mostly works on digital media, Jean loves to draw with a pen and markers. She especially likes to draw cityscapes that involve perspective and stories of city life. During the weekends, Jean often goes outside into the city, studies people and buildings around her, and brings them to life in her sketchbook. Jean believes the purpose of an artist’s work is in bringing excitement and happiness into people’s minds. ‘I love to create art that makes your heart warm’.

The artist, David Brown, studied and received his Fine Arts training at California State University of Long Beach and graduated with a BFA in Drawing and Painting in 2018. As a child, he watched his older brother draw and recalls wanting to draw just like him when he grew up. David currently lives in Long Beach, California, and has been lucky to show his work in multiple group shows and a few solo shows, mostly based in the Los Angeles area. His traditional work includes oil, charcoal, and graphite. He is strongly influenced by Renaissance, Baroque, and a lot of today’s contemporary work. David’s work is predominately focused on the human figure. “People are my inspiration. I love learning people’s stories and try to capture the sitter’s narrative through my drawings/ paintings …I love drawing people from life, I feel that my work focuses on the relationship between artist and model”. His art is his one true passion and he believes that, “artists are super sensitive and emotional human beings, our work is a physical representation of our thoughts and emotions, a diary that we choose to share with the world”.

Although born and raised in Los Angeles, artist Van Garrett has been heavily influenced by traveling abroad to a multitude of countries, especially Iceland. Music is a big part of his life and it sparked his creativity even before he began painting. In fact, Van did not begin painting until he was in college and he is self-taught. “Art was something that was always in my genes. It makes me happy. I believe that every artist leaves a piece of themselves in their artwork. In turn, it makes me happy when people get to own part of those pieces to share with the world.” Van prefers working in liquid acrylics and watercolors because of their fluidity. “I like how the colors flow. I like to observe how the different shapes and mixtures come alive.” Van finds animals, humans, and nature are his favorite subjects to paint. He is inspired by nature, people, and music. When not painting, Van runs marathons, travels and plays the guitar.

Artist Eve Fairwell has been lucky to have had her childhood passion for art fostered throughout her life via classes, college, and various generous mentors. Eve took all the art classes she could in school, eventually resulting in a senior year of high school filled with four periods of art and the required English and Math. From the ages of 12-15 she trained under a local oil painter whose paintings were sought after in Iran, and in college was mentored by an illustrator for the Times. Eve received her BFA in painting and illustration from the Academy of Art University in San Francisco. Though she started with playtime watercolor sets, long years of practice, observation, luck, and dedication is what have allowed her to become a full-time artist today. Eve works with acrylic paint, watercolor, and digitally in Photoshop and Illustrator. She is obsessed with the textures that traditional media can produce and often incorporates these into her digital artwork using a combination of effects, which creates a result that draws the eye in. Eve likes how colors interact in digital formats, and the feeling of depth traditional media lends. The style’s that influenced her are minimalism, expressionism and the work of some surrealists captures her interest. Eve’s focus centers on the moments of rest between bustling movements in our everyday lives. The few seconds that pass eerily quietly in a noisy city; the hush that comes over a room just before the birthday person arrives; a glance that stops you in your tracks. Eve likes still moments of hush that give you chills and make you pause to recognize we are all here, alive, right now experiencing the beautiful weirdness of life. To show this, Eve’s abstract subjects are often explored by feelings in the body or reductions of elements of scenes that cause that feeling to occur.

Water drips off of the ends of a whales tail as it breaks the ocean surface in this unique coastal piece.

Great print but WAYFAIR SCREWED UP IN A BIG WAY!! They screwed the hanging wire into the frame near the bottom, so the only way to hang the print is upside down. Going to try to unscrew it and re-screw it in where it should be, but the print is NOT "hanging ready" and we aer afraid of damaging the frame (it is really tightly screwed in), This was an expensive gift and this was a really stupid mistake on the part of Wayfair. Alexander NikAnpour is a contemporary visual artist living in Northern California. After graduating with a Masters of Fine Arts in communications design from the HDK University in Gothenburg, Sweden he went on to study environmental design at Parsons School of Design in New York City. Furthering his education, he graduated with a Masters of Fine Arts, interior architecture, and furniture design from Konstfack, University College of Arts, Crafts and Design, in Stockholm, Sweden. He has participated in many groups and solo art exhibitions in New York, Sweden, Denmark and Shanghai.

Artist Patricia Harris grew up in southern California where she graduated from California State University, Northridge with a Bachelor of Arts. As the wife of a Marine Corps officer, she traveled and lived in many exciting and beautiful locations which have been inspirations for her paintings. She now lives in San Diego, California where she is active in several art organizations. My art is a visual and tactile response to the awe and wonder I find in the natural world. I want to create a sense of tranquility and peace that brings the viewer closer to the beauty of nature in all its colors, shapes, movement, and power.
