An organic and instinctual painter, Artist Sarah Stockstill’s process relies on a foundation of several layers of texture that is applied and sanded back to get a smooth surface that lets her most immediate marks shine on the surface. Responding to color and forms, she follows as led. Sometimes into a deep horizon with traces of landscape, an organic jungle of pattern, a human figure, and every now and then an animal with an ethereal mystique. While she had been influenced by her mother’s love of art as a small child, she was also inspired by her many trips to the Chicago Art Institute. In 1972, she and her family moved to the small mountain town of Lake Arrowhead, California, where she attended the art program at Rim of The World High School and fell in love with the beauty of nature. For the past several years, she has been teaching acrylic and watercolor to children and adults. In 2015, Wendy began focusing on her work using acrylic, watercolor, and mixed media. She divides her time between San Diego and Lake Arrowhead where she is continually inspired by the beauty of nature.

Artist Tommy Kwak’s work explores the transience of landscapes and natural forms through ethereal large-format color photographs. His work has been shown in New York City and Iceland. He earned a BFA in graphic design from California College of the Arts in 2002 and completed photography courses at the International Center of Photography from 2006 to 2008. In 2010 and 2016, Tommy participated in the SIM Residency program in Reykjavik, Iceland, as well as the international arts festival, Villa Reykjavik. Tommy grew up outside of Chicago, lived and worked in Brooklyn, NY for 13 years, and now resides in Montclair, NJ.
