But, he readily credits Old Hollywood and West Palm Beach as among his greatest muses.
I was so excited about this but it arrived and looks totally different in person. I expected a watercolor canvas but it has a shiny finish on it that makes it look cheap and not at all made to order. The finish ruins what is otherwise a gorgeous print. Totally disappointed and will not be buying art from Perigold again.. Caroline. Harrison, NY. Sun Oct 27 2024

This iconic photograph captures American writer C.Z. Guest (Mrs F.C. Winston Guest, 1920 - 2003) and her son Alexander Michael Douglas Dudley Guest in front of their Grecian temple pool on the ocean-front estate, Villa Artemis, Palm Beach in January 1955. The image epitomizes the sophisticated leisure culture and refined elegance that defined Palm Beach's golden age as America's premier winter resort destination during the mid-1950s. Depicting one of America's classic beauties who was named to the International Best Dressed Hall of Fame List in 1959 in her element at the magnificent estate designed in 1916 by architect F. Burrall Hoffman, who also designed Villa Vizcaya, this photograph captures the essence of American high society at its most authentic and aspirational. The scene embodies the patrician beauty and sporty, outdoorsy aesthetic that defined socially registered enclaves like Palm Beach, where C.Z. Guest became a fashion icon with her unfussy, clean-cut style that was seen as typically American. This image represents the perfect synthesis of old-world architectural grandeur and new-world glamour that made Palm Beach the ultimate destination for America's social elite. This sophisticated photograph captures a woman elegantly watching a poolside fashion show at the Colony Hotel in Palm Beach, Florida, on January 1, 1961. The image perfectly embodies the leisurely glamour that defined Palm Beach's social season, where fashion and lifestyle converged in the most exclusive settings. The Colony Hotel's poolside fashion shows were legendary events that attracted the social elite, creating the perfect backdrop for Aarons to document the intersection of high fashion and resort culture that characterized the early 1960s. The Colony Hotel, Palm Beach's iconic "Pink Paradise" established in 1947, served as the epicenter of sophisticated social life for international jet-setters, royalty, and Hollywood celebrities. By 1961, the hotel had become renowned for hosting exclusive poolside fashion shows that showcased the latest resort wear to an audience of discerning socialites and fashion enthusiasts. Kennedy, Judy Garland, and Frank Sinatra.
