Set against the balmy backdrop of the Bahamas in 1963, this vivid photograph, "Bahamas Speed Week", captures a fleeting moment of pre-race glamour at Nassau’s famed Oakes Course. At center stage is Gordon Butler’s Chevrolet Corvette Sting Ray, its sleek red form surrounded by onlookers in crisp attire and casual ease. The scene evokes the golden age of motorsport when racing was as much about high society spectacle as it was about speed. The annual Speed Week attracted jet-setters, thrill-seekers, and style icons alike, transforming the island into a playground of performance and prestige. Slim Aarons, renowned for his evocative photographs of, as he described it, "attractive people doing attractive things in attractive places," was the quintessential chronicler of high society. After serving as a war photographer, Aarons turned his lens to a new landscape: the glamorous lives of Hollywood elites, Palm Beach socialites, and jet-setting debutantes and princes. His work for society publications captured an aspirational world of leisure and luxury that defined the American upper class throughout the mid-20th century, creating images that remain timeless symbols of sophistication and style. The photograph is presented as a high-resolution scan of the photo's original photographic slide, complete with hand-lettered archival notations along the mount. Offered exclusively by Soicher Marin, this edition preserves the full character of the original format, transforming it into a striking piece of wall art that merges history, authenticity, and timeless style. More than a photograph, it is a curated artifact of American cultural glamour, bringing a refined yet playful sophistication to any well-appointed interior. Every piece in our unique Slim Aarons collection is meticulously handcrafted using archival materials and printed on premium, luster photographic paper with environmentally safe inks, custom framed by skilled artisans who ensure that each work of art meets the exacting standards befitting such an iconic photograph.

In a quite unique and profoundly contemporary scene of urban life, passengers including a mother and her children, a milliner, a nurse and a fashionable couple, ride an omnibus past to Hyde Park or Kensington Gardens. Few details are lost to the artist, including the advertisement for Pears soap and the passing hansom cab. Irish-born artist joy studied in London and Paris, establishing himself as a history and genre painter who frequently exhibited at the Royal Academy. The authentic stretched canvas replica painting captures the original work's texture, depth of color, and even its subtle brushstrokes, which are applied by hand exclusively for Design Toscano. The imported, delicately carved hardwood frame boasts an elegant leaf motif with fine feathered detailing finished in antique gold tones.

This 1959 photograph, "Beauty and the Beast", offers a rare glimpse into the opulent interiors of Palm Beach high society, where glamour and eccentricity often intersected. Lady Daphne Cameron, poised atop a tiger skin rug in the trophy room of Laddie Sanford’s estate, personifies the elegance and theatricality that defined the social elite of the era. Set against a backdrop of lavish furnishings and curated grandeur, the image captures a moment where wealth, fashion, and exotic indulgence coalesced into a singular aesthetic vision that would come to define mid-century American aristocracy. The artist, Richard Ryder, developed an affinity towards art at an early age where he took every opportunity to incorporate art into his assignments. During his early years, while attending elementary school, he would doodle on the blank side of envelopes or any discarded paper. This drove his passion to pursue taking studio art courses while in high school & continued that pursuit through to four-year formal art education. As an artist that is heavily influenced by graphic design, Art Deco, and traditional animation, Richard aims to capture the beauty in whichever subject he is painting. He focuses on ways to exploit the basic elements of art to create a satisfying and cohesive design. As an artist, Richard seeks to improve and challenge himself. He states that “With the internet, I am constantly inspired by art either in the fine art or commercial field. It is this exposure that leads me to constantly explore different mediums and styles."

Originally from Southern California, Ryann now lives in Austin, TX. At 12 or 13, her dad pulled out his old Pentax Spotmatic from Vietnam, and Ryann was immediately enthralled and determined to learn enough to create a photo. In high school, she fell in love with photography and soon after enrolled at the renowned Brooks Institute of Photography in Santa Barbara, where she earned a BA in Photography, majoring in architecture. When creating personal work, she does not think about how the images she's creating will be perceived by others and only shoots what she's drawn to. When asked what she's most influenced by, Ryann states: "I’ve long been drawn to the American Southwest and forgotten places - that still holds true today, nearly 20 years after first picking up a camera. I’ve always been drawn to the outdoors and landscapes, but I’m especially interested in the landscape that has been manipulated and left behind by a man."

"Bahamas Speed Week," captured by Slim Aarons in December 1963 at the Oakes Course in Nassau, Bahamas, encapsulates the electrifying energy of the annual racing event that attracted international elites and motorsport enthusiasts. This vibrant photograph showcases Gordon Butler's sleek red Chevrolet Corvette Sting Ray, adorned with number 149, where a stylish woman in a pink gingham dress leans casually against the car, chatting with the driver in a striped shirt and sunglasses, while another participant reclines playfully on the hood in white attire, foot kicked up, amidst a lively crowd of onlookers and vintage vehicles. The un-staged scene blends speed, sophistication, and social allure, reflecting the era's thrilling mix of competition and leisure that defined the jet-set lifestyle and continues to inspire motorsport and fashion enthusiasts. Slim Aarons (1916–2006), born George Allen Aarons, rose from humble origins and World War II combat photography to become a celebrated chronicler of the elite, vowing post-war to photograph only "attractive people doing attractive things in attractive places," with his works gracing magazines like Town & Country and now preserved in the Getty Images archive. This exquisite reproduction from Soicher Marin is printed on premium luster photo paper using state-of-the-art techniques, ensuring vibrant colors, sharp details, and enduring quality that brings a touch of mid-century sophistication to any space.

Since 1994, Barclay Butera has been the creative force behind his eponymous design firm and showroom in Newport Beach, California. His success there prompted him to establish additional showrooms in Hollywood, California, and Park City, Utah. Butera is renowned for his approachable elegance and glamorous, West Coast chic interiors. His inspirations are drawn from grand architecture from coast to coast, European and Far Eastern influences, high-fashion runways, and his far-flung world travels. But he readily credits old Hollywood and West Palm Beach as being among his greatest muses.
I don't understand the finish. I have never seen a wrapped canvas piece of art with a what might appear as a shiny, protective film on it. If under glass, one expects a reflection unless it's museum glass. However, canvas should represent a brushstroke quality making it a good representation of the original.. Ryan. Galion, OH. Chris Dunker has photographed industrial culture for over two decades. His Father introduced photography to Chris at an early age. Chris attended Al Weber Workshops and classes at the community college where Chris’s Father taught photography. Dunker earned a Bachelor of Science in Applied Art and Design with a photography concentration and a minor in Philosophy from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo. In 1995 he completed a Masters of Fine Arts in photography from Utah State University. Chris grew up in China Lake, California which is in the isolated and remote high desert east of the Sierras. This austere and harsh environment is punctuated with mining outposts, rock art, and industrial-military structures, all influences of Dunker’s formative years. A strong interest in industrial music and performance groups like Survival Research Laboratories expanded his understanding of how industrial dynamics could be integrated into art forms and how an aesthetic could be derived from objects of utility. As an Assistant Professor of Photography at Utah State University, Dunker taught History of Photography and many other classes. Research in this field broadened his awareness of how photographers consider the role of industrial culture in relation to the human condition.

This artwork is a photograph of an aerial of a classic car.

The artist, D’Alessandro Léon, was the youngest of three brothers. When art competitions were a form of play for the brothers, it later grew to his obsession. D’Alessandro attended the Art Institute of California where he explored mixing mediums as well as digital. He also attended illustration, Sculpting, and Fine Art workshops. After spending long periods of time studying different techniques, D’Alessandro’s art became increasingly influenced by artists from the early 1900s. During D’Alessandro’s studies, he painted many different themes. He painted with restless intensity, often painting from morning until night. D’Alessandro was able to indulge his earliest artistic preferences for people, nature, architecture, and landscapes in his illustration and personal pieces.

Artist Commentary: "To walk safely through the maze of human life, one needs the light of wisdom and the guidance of virtue." -- Buddha The North Point Lighthouse along the Lake Michigan shoreline in Lake Park, Milwaukee Wisconsin. The lighthouse was originally completed in 1855, rebuilt at it's present location in 1887 and finally raised to it's current height of 74 feet in 1912. It was taken out of service and closed by the US Coast Guard in 1994. In 2007, the lighthouse reopened to the public. In the processing of this image, I was inspired by the lighthouse paintings of Edward Hopper.
