This 1959 photograph, "Beauty and the Beast", offers a rare glimpse into the opulent interiors of Palm Beach high society, where glamour and eccentricity often intersected. Lady Daphne Cameron, poised atop a tiger skin rug in the trophy room of Laddie Sanford’s estate, personifies the elegance and theatricality that defined the social elite of the era. Set against a backdrop of lavish furnishings and curated grandeur, the image captures a moment where wealth, fashion, and exotic indulgence coalesced into a singular aesthetic vision that would come to define mid-century American aristocracy. Slim Aarons, renowned for his evocative photographs of, as he described it, "attractive people doing attractive things in attractive places," was the quintessential chronicler of high society. After serving as a war photographer, Aarons turned his lens to a new landscape: the glamorous lives of Hollywood elites, Palm Beach socialites, and jet-setting debutantes and princes. His work for society publications captured an aspirational world of leisure and luxury that defined the American upper class throughout the mid-20th century, creating images that remain timeless symbols of sophistication and style. The photograph is presented as a high-resolution scan of the photo's original photographic slide, complete with hand-lettered archival notations along the mount. Offered exclusively by Soicher Marin, this edition preserves the full character of the original format, transforming it into a striking piece of wall art that merges history, authenticity, and timeless style. More than a photograph, it is a curated artifact of American cultural glamour, bringing a refined yet playful sophistication to any well-appointed interior. Every piece in our unique Slim Aarons collection is meticulously handcrafted using archival materials and printed on premium, luster photographic paper with environmentally safe inks, custom framed by skilled artisans who ensure that each work of art meets the exacting standards befitting such an iconic photograph.
Stunning! And it is even more beautiful in person. Brittany. Canada. Wed Apr 22 2026

Captured in 1972, this vibrant image, "Poolside Backgammon", reflects the hedonistic glamour of Las Brisas, Acapulco, a hotspot for international elites during the golden age of jet-set leisure. Set at Villa Nirvana, the private estate of Mexican industrialist Oscar Obregón, the scene is a sun-soaked tableau of wealth, style, and leisure where guests lounge, socialize, and play poolside games against a backdrop of whitewashed architecture and panoramic views. As Mexico’s Pacific coast emerged as a playground for celebrities and aristocrats, this photograph epitomized the luxurious ease and carefree elegance that defined the era’s social elite. Slim Aarons, renowned for his evocative photographs of, as he described it, "attractive people doing attractive things in attractive places," was the quintessential chronicler of high society. It’s rare that the actual item out does the write up and pictures, but it did! This is the second one I bought of the dog series. I tried one first and loved it so much we bought the second one. Just had a huge picnic and everyone that went inside loved the two dog paintings. They actually looked like our two dogs and people thought we had them custom painted. Very happy.. Mark. Show off your personality while making an impactful statement on your decor with these stunning museum-quality art pieces. Each piece is printed in ultra-high resolution on your choice of premium ultra-HD metallic photo paper back-mounted under transparent acrylic glass or a high-definition print directly on high-quality diamond pearl white aluminum. Both results are completely realistic ultra-HD photo prints that have vivid colors and bold contrasts that are UV protected and halftone-free. All pieces are backed with aluminum framing, which creates a floating effect and comes ready to hang. Differences between acrylic and aluminum: The first thing to note is that you can't go wrong with either medium! In general, aluminum or metal prints have a matte finish in comparison to the acrylic gloss finish. HD acrylic: On 1/4" acrylic pieces, the image is back-mounted under the acrylic. The optical transparent acrylic glass enhances the effect of depth and brings out the metallic UHD photo prints' exact contours and details for a stunning 3D effect. Because the image is printed using metallic UHD photo paper, this format will give you sharper lines and edges at higher resolutions. There is a reflective property with acrylic in which light refracts through the acrylic glass, giving your photos substance and depth, as well as superb image quality from edge to edge. Also notable is that all our acrylic art pieces' edges are hand-diamond polished to capture the surrounding light. HD metal: On the metal pieces, the image is printed/infused directly on diamond pearl white aluminum. The diamond-pearl aluminum creates a stunning shimmer with a satin sheen, enhancing the reflective properties of the image. Images appear crisp and are very visible in brightly lit areas while maintaining an overall metallic sheen. All our metal prints are made of weather-resistant material, exhibiting impressive color intensity using UV color-protected technology. This makes it suitable for covered outdoor areas or bathrooms, and it comes ready to hang.

Finally, you’ll have plenty of choices if you’re buying a piece of art created by Dana Gibson.
