From 1969, this evocative photograph captures a sun-drenched moment at the Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc on the French Riviera, where sleek wooden speedboats line the pier in quiet anticipation. Set against the serene expanse of the Mediterranean Sea, the scene embodies the effortless glamour and leisurely sophistication that defined the Riviera lifestyle during this golden era. Waterskiers carve through the calm waters, weaving a narrative of freedom and exhilaration amid one of Europe’s most iconic luxury destinations. The image reflects a time when the hotel was a magnet for the world’s elite, blending natural beauty with a vibrant social culture. Artist Janice Sadler particularly likes working in watercolors, because "the subtle colors intermingle, wash and flow into each other and new colors evolve from it." Janice's "Walking on a Stage" series is ideally suited to depicting soft, elegant dancers.
My piece just arrived, while it is a beautiful painting, i have to say it is ruined by the very, very high glass epoxy that was put on top of the painting. While this might afford protection, most art in floating frames do not have this. and it is not visible in the photos. They should have used either nothing or a non glare option. Because it causes great glare off the picture, taking away from the beautiful piece and making it look like a cheap poster. Not what I expected for this price. Its too bad, aside from that it is beautiful, but beware. Its a shame the pictures do not accurately depic what this epoxy actual does to this picture. Sheila. Dover, NH. Thu Apr 08 2021

Romantic Figures 6 is a series of six playful prints reminiscent of illustrated playing cards. The series is a delightful mash-up of early synthetic cubist sentiments and bold German expressionist figures. Synthetic cubism of the early 20th century began to blur the boundaries between painting and sculpture by offering a new understanding of the pictorial surface. During the same time, German expressionism broke away from traditional norms of representing the human figure. In Romantic Figure 6, the royal prince stands determined at court confident of his position. Wearing a dark crown, he calculatingly balances an apple in the palm of his hand. His hunter-green robe tops his cubist truncated khaki trousers. He claims his fate. Part of the exclusive collection, Romantic Figures 6 offers a striking portrayal of synthetic cubism and German expressionism in this original series of works.
