Artist Tommy Kwak’s work explores the transience of landscapes and natural forms through ethereal large-format color photographs. His work has been shown in New York City and Iceland. He earned a BFA in graphic design from California College of the Arts in 2002 and completed photography courses at the International Center of Photography from 2006 to 2008. In 2010 and 2016, Tommy participated in the SIM Residency program in Reykjavik, Iceland, as well as the international arts festival, Villa Reykjavik. Tommy grew up outside of Chicago, lived and worked in Brooklyn, NY for 13 years, and now resides in Montclair, NJ.

Bought all three in the series and they look nice hung together. The green in this one is very nice. The offset/tension of the hanging wire was different on all three items so beware when you are hanging that all of the holes may need to be at different heights. Austin Beiv grew up in the tough streets of Brooklyn. Where the expression of one’s self was usually done through wall tagging, or as we say in Italian "graffito". Austin was influenced by many different artists particularly Fernando Carlo. Fernando was well known for his expressive graffiti. The influence from Austin’s childhood is where the edge and contemporary look comes from in his art pieces. Austin graduated from Pratt Institute in the early ’90s. Amy Humphries is a self-taught photographer who began experimenting with photography when she was 15 with a small, inexpensive point-and-shoot camera she had saved up for with babysitting money. She was inexperienced and didn’t know what she was doing, only that she loved the process of photography and the fact that you could evoke a specific feeling from an image. Gradually, Amy began to learn more of the technical side of photography, but the majority of her knowledge of photography came solely from trial and error. She feels that photography is mostly a way to document a particular time, place, and feeling. It allows her to essentially make memories tangible, in the way that she’s actually experiencing it at the moment that she creates the image. Her hopes are that if that feeling can translate to others that view her work, it would be icing on the cake.

Each piece is printed in ultra-high resolution on your choice of premium ultra-HD metallic photo paper back-mounted under transparent acrylic glass or a high-definition print directly on high-quality diamond pearl white aluminum. Both results are a completely realistic ultra-HD photo print that has vivid colors, bold contrasts, is UV protected, and is halftone-free. All pieces are backed with aluminum framing which creates a floating effect and comes ready to hang. Differences between Acrylic and Aluminum: The first thing to note is that you can’t go wrong with either medium! HD Acrylic: On 1/4" acrylic pieces the image is back-mounted under the acrylic. The optical transparent acrylic glass enhances the effect of depth and brings out the metallic UltraHD photo print’s exact contours and details for a stunning 3D effect. Because the image is printed using metallic UltraHD photo paper, this format will give you sharper lines and edges at higher resolutions. There is a reflective property with acrylic which light refracts through the acrylic glass, giving your photos substance and depth, as well as superb image quality from edge to edge. Also notable is that all our acrylic art piece’s edges are hand diamond polished to capture the surrounding light. HD Metal: On the metal pieces the image is printed/infused directly on diamond pearl white aluminum. The diamond-pearl aluminum creates a stunning shimmer with a satin seen enhancing reflective properties of the image. Images appear crisp and are very visible in brightly light areas while maintaining an overall metallic sheen. All our metal prints are made of weather-resistant material, exhibiting impressive color intensity using UV Color protected technology. This makes it suitable for outdoor areas or bathrooms and comes ready to hang.
