"Snowmass Picnic," captured by Slim Aarons in January 1967 amid the pristine slopes of Snowmass-at-Aspen, Colorado, evokes the joyous camaraderie of alpine high society. This enchanting photograph portrays a stand-up fondue picnic for skiers, with hot food elegantly helicoptered in by Holiday magazine, where notable guests like Howard Head of the Head Ski Company, IBM president Thomas Watson Jr. and his wife Olive, Norwegian Olympic skier Stein Eriksen, and restaurateur Armando Orsini gather in the fresh snowfields, their laughter and stylish winter attire harmonizing with the vast trails of the newly opened village. The scene captures the heart of 1960s winter leisure, weaving adventurous spirit with refined indulgence, evoking a timeless romance that continues to enchant lovers of snowy escapades and sophisticated gatherings. Slim Aarons (1916–2006), born George Allen Aarons, rose from humble origins and World War II combat photography to become a celebrated chronicler of the elite, vowing post-war to photograph only "attractive people doing attractive things in attractive places," with his works gracing magazines like Town & Country and now preserved in the Getty Images archive. This exquisite reproduction from Soicher Marin is printed on premium luster photo paper using state-of-the-art techniques, ensuring vibrant colors, sharp details, and enduring quality that brings a touch of mid-century sophistication to any space.

Artist Eve Fairwell has been lucky to have had her childhood passion for art fostered throughout her life via classes, college, and various generous mentors. Eve took all the art classes she could in school, eventually resulting in a senior year of high school filled with four periods of art and the required English and Math. From the ages of 12-15 she trained under a local oil painter whose paintings were sought after in Iran, and in college was mentored by an illustrator for the Times. Eve received her BFA in painting and illustration from the Academy of Art University in San Francisco. Though she started with playtime watercolor sets, long years of practice, observation, luck, and dedication is what have allowed her to become a full-time artist today. Eve works with acrylic paint, watercolor, and digitally in Photoshop and Illustrator. She is obsessed with the textures that traditional media can produce and often incorporates these into her digital artwork using a combination of effects, which creates a result that draws the eye in. Eve likes how colors interact in digital formats, and the feeling of depth traditional media lends. The styles that influenced her are minimalism, expressionism and the work of some surrealists captured her interest. Eve’s focus centers on the moments of rest between bustling movements in our everyday lives. The few seconds that pass eerily quietly in a noisy city; the hush that comes over a room just before the birthday person arrives; a glance that stops you in your tracks. Eve likes still moments of hush that give you chills and make you pause to recognize we are all here, alive, right now experiencing the beautiful weirdness of life. To show this, Eve’s abstract subjects are often explored by feelings in the body or reductions of elements of scenes that cause that feeling to occur.

Gert Johan Manschot lives in a modern barn aptly named the Dutch Barn in Dripping Springs, TX with six rescue dogs, two donkeys, a cat, and three beehives. Johan's career journey started in the Netherlands as a lawyer first and subsequently in project management. Throughout his life, he found joy in art: paintings, sculptures, and art collecting. After moving to Texas a little more than 10 years ago for love and marriage, he began drawing and painting himself. Initially, taking nude drawing lessons in Dallas, joined a painter studio there as well, and attended Texas Women’s University for a Master's in Painting. His art is heavily influenced by meditation having spent a significant amount of time in a Zen Buddhist monastery and at various retreats. His painting is predominantly abstract in form, mainly in black and white, using acrylic paint on canvas, wood, or paper, and most large in format. In the past year, he has been experimenting with color again, mixing color in black and white. Johan expresses himself with one or a few large and fast brush strokes, a combination of motion and emotion. The strokes capture the energy that he experiences in the very moment of painting. They are invocative and challenge the viewer to question where the energy comes from and what it expresses. His paintings often have a Zen quality and expressiveness, minimal and direct. The Ensō, aka Zen circle, is becoming more and more of a central expression and integral part of his work. His figurative art, female figures in the nude, reflects and expresses the model’s energy, movement, curvature, lines, and elegance, using charcoal, graphite, or chalk on paper. As with his abstract paintings, the execution is fast with minimal lines capturing the essence of femininity.
