Mine actually arrived with a different frame than what I was expecting from the listing photos, so I was unsure at first. But once I got it leaned up and styled, I completely changed my mind. The frame I received has a softer, more textured look in person that actually works really well with my space and gives it more character. The artwork itself is beautiful — very neutral, calming, and easy to work into a room without overpowering everything else. It has that high-end abstract look that makes a space feel more finished and layered. Packaging was great and everything arrived in perfect condition. Romantic Figures 6 is a series of six playful prints reminiscent of illustrated playing cards. The series is a delightful mash-up of early synthetic cubist sentiments and bold German expressionist figures. Synthetic cubism of the early 20th century began to blur the boundaries between painting and sculpture by offering a new understanding of the pictorial surface. During the same time, German expressionism broke away from traditional norms of representing the human figure. In Romantic Figure 6, the royal prince stands determined at court confident of his position. Wearing a dark crown, he calculatingly balances an apple in the palm of his hand. His hunter-green robe tops his cubist truncated khaki trousers. He claims his fate. Part of the exclusive collection, Romantic Figures 6 offers a striking portrayal of synthetic cubism and German expressionism in this original series of works.
