Brad Ellis is a Texas-based artist whose focus is on abstract painting. Throughout his career, he has continually experimented with imagery from tightly rendered, systematic patterns to loosely constructed, expressionistic compositions. He has distinguished himself by embracing the ancient medium of encaustic which is hot wax painting and is a process by which heated beeswax is mixed with pigments and applied to board or canvas and then fused to the surface with a heat source. Brad approaches each new painting with the same consistency that he's employed for many years now which he referred to as “Pattern, Rhythm, and Process.” He typically starts each painting by building up layers of paper and/or fabric collage materials by cutting and mounting these pieces onto the canvas or board and arranging them in a way to form the underlying pattern of the painting. This helps lay the foundation for the initial imagery and paves the way for the applications of the other mediums.

The framed painting's tactile layers of acrylic paint add profound depth, allowing viewers to get lost in the mesmerizing layers that swell and dip across the canvas. The piece evokes the undulating textures and nuances of a desert landscape as the fluid strokes and ripples of the paintwork conjure images of the Earth's topography.

Elena Carlie was born in Romania; a country known for its rich cultural heritage and great natural beauty. At the age of 22, she moved to the United States where she expanded her horizons and grew as an artist. She has studied Fine arts since she was a child and currently holds a BFA in Graphic Design from the University of NH. “Art defines our humanity, freedom, and individuality. It is a way to articulate abstract thought and separates us from other life forms. Art is incredibly therapeutic for me, and foremost a strong passion. It’s not something I think about, but rather, something I feel.” Carlie finds inspiration everywhere. She strives to discover new ways of interpretation and sees this as a formula to remain fresh. It is a way of having fun while doing something that she loves. “To me, anything that can be manipulated can become an art medium.” “I love to work with watercolor paint, oil paint, acrylic paint, pencil, pen, and ink. However, the digital tools available today are pushing the limits of creativity and I find myself very involved with it.”

The Dutch Landscape Study is a piece that effortlessly captures the essence of tranquil countryside vistas. This wall art is more than just a print; it's a handcrafted masterpiece with artisan wood molding and a giclee finish that brings depth and texture to any room. Crafted on high-quality paper and framed in a rich brown wood, it arrives ready to hang, adding a touch of timeless elegance to your space.

The piece is beautiful but it took forever to get. I tried to cancel the order because of a change of address - thought it was cancelled and three weeks later it showed up at my home. Turns out the fulfillment center DECLINED my cancel with no explanation. The first person I spoke with at Perigold was fine, just repeating what her script said. I asked for a manager - explained the situation and he adjusted the pricing for me. So a warning to you - if the product you want shows a delayed shipping, be sure you want it because the final decision isn't yours.. Mary. Milwaukee, WI. Tue May 18 2021
