Artist Fern Cassidy was born in Oakland, CA, but grew up in Colorado. She enjoys traveling, being outdoors, food, and painting. Fern studied drawing and painting at CSU, Long Beach, where she learned a lot from professors that she trained under, but most of her experience comes from her personal practice. She works in all mediums including oil, acrylic, watercolor, and gouache, but also likes to experiment with textiles and fiber arts. Fern finds opportunities to explore and experiment with colors and shapes. She finds inspiration from daily life and the things around her. “Art is a means to preserve and find meaning in life.”

Music is a big part of his life and it sparked his creativity even before he began painting. I believe that every artist leaves a piece of themselves in their artwork. In turn, it makes me happy when people get to own part of those pieces to share with the world.” Van prefers working in liquid acrylics and watercolors because of their fluidity. “I like how the colors flow. I love the print! It was the colors that I needed and loved. It was a little pricey for the Quality or texture of it. It seems a little flat in texture but not bad. I am so disappointed in the item I received. My painting doe not look remotely like the painting pictured online. Instead of the complex mixture of dark blues, light blues and grays that I was expecting, I got a cheap-looking version that is 50% dark blue, 50% champagne with random dabs of gold in the middle. An organic and instinctual painter, Artist Sarah Stockstill’s process relies on a foundation of several layers of texture that is applied and sanded back to get a smooth surface that lets her most immediate marks shine on the surface. Responding to color and forms, she follows as led. Sometimes into a deep horizon with traces of landscape, an organic jungle of pattern, a human figure, and every now and then an animal with an ethereal mystique. Sometimes the layering is broad, covering the entire canvas, and sometimes it is minute, focusing and embellishing a possible overlooked element of the painting which in turn becomes the center of interest. Most always layers are created and taken away, leaving small traces whose threads become more important for doing so.

He works between figurative and abstract using a variety of layering techniques from collage, transfers from his own photos to endless over-painting. Having traveled extensively since childhood, JP pulls a lot of imagery and inspiration from the memorabilia and sketchbooks he has collected along his journey.

Fern Cassidy was born in Oakland, CA, but grew up in Colorado. She enjoys traveling, being outdoors, food, and painting. Fern studied drawing and painting at CSU Long Beach, where she learned a lot from the professors she trained under, but most of her experience comes from her personal practice. She works in all media, including oil, acrylic, watercolor, and gouache, but she also likes to experiment with textiles and fiber arts. Fern finds opportunities to explore and experiment with colors and shapes, drawing inspiration from daily life and the things around her. “Art is a means to preserve and find meaning in life.”
