This iconic photograph captures Carmen Alvarez enjoying a game of backgammon with Frank 'Brandy' Brandstetter in a swimming pool at Acapulco in 1978. The image epitomizes the sophisticated leisure culture that defined Acapulco's golden age as Mexico's premier international resort destination during the late 1970s. Depicting a Hollywood actress and a hotelier moonlighting as a US intelligence officer enjoying a game of backgammon in a pool in Mexico, 'Keep Your Cool' is undeniably Aarons at his finest. This photograph captures the essence of tropical glamour at its most inventive, where the traditional parlor game of backgammon becomes an aquatic adventure in paradise. The scene represents the perfect fusion of sophistication and whimsy that characterized Acapulco's appeal to international jet-setters who appreciated both luxury and playfulness. Slim Aarons, renowned for his evocative photographs of, as he described it, "attractive people doing attractive things in attractive places," was the quintessential chronicler of high society. After serving as a war photographer, Aarons turned his lens to a new landscape: the glamorous lives of Hollywood elites, Palm Beach socialites, and jet-setting debutantes and princes. His work for society publications captured an aspirational world of leisure and luxury that defined the American upper class throughout the mid-20th century, creating images that remain timeless symbols of sophistication and style. Immerse yourself in the timeless allure of Slim Aarons' "Poolside Gossip," captured in January 1970 at the iconic Kaufmann Desert House in Palm Springs, California—a modernist masterpiece designed by architect Richard Neutra for department store magnate Edgar J. Kaufmann. This vibrant photograph depicts former model and homeowner Nelda Linsk (seated right, in a striking yellow outfit), wife of art dealer Joseph Linsk, engaged in lively conversation with her friend Helen Dzo Dzo Kaptur (left), as actress Lita Baron approaches from behind, cocktail in hand, against a backdrop of the sparkling turquoise pool, lush desert landscaping, and the majestic San Jacinto Mountains. Epitomizing the carefree glamour of mid-20th-century high society, the un-staged scene reflects the era's leisure and elegance, with the subjects' relaxed poses and colorful attire symbolizing an aspirational lifestyle that has made this image a cultural icon, even inspiring recreations decades later. Slim Aarons (1916–2006), born George Allen Aarons, rose from humble origins and World War II combat photography to become a celebrated chronicler of the elite, vowing post-war to photograph only "attractive people doing attractive things in attractive places," with his works gracing magazines like Town & Country and now preserved in the Getty Images archive. This exquisite reproduction from Soicher Marin is printed on premium luster photo paper using state-of-the-art techniques, ensuring vibrant colors, sharp details, and enduring quality that brings a touch of mid-century sophistication to any space.

Show off your personality while making an impactful statement to your décor with these stunning museum-quality art pieces. Each piece is printed in ultra-high resolution on your choice of premium ultra-HD metallic photo paper back-mounted under transparent acrylic glass or a high-definition print directly on high-quality diamond pearl white aluminum. Both results are a completely realistic ultra-HD photo print that has vivid colors, bold contrasts, is UV protected, and is halftone-free. All pieces are backed with aluminum framing which creates a floating effect and comes ready to hang. Differences between Acrylic and Aluminum: First thing to note is that you can’t go wrong with either medium! HD Acrylic: On 1/4" acrylic pieces the image is back-mounted under the acrylic. The optical transparent acrylic glass enhances the effect of depth and brings out the metallic UltraHD photo print’s exact contours and details for a stunning 3D effect. Because the image is printed using metallic UltraHD photo paper, this format will give you sharper lines and edges at higher resolutions. There is a reflective property with acrylic in which light refracts through the acrylic glass, giving your photos substance and depth, as well as superb image quality from edge to edge. Also notable is that all our acrylic art piece’s edges are hand diamond polished to capture the surrounding light. HD Metal: On the metal pieces the image is printed/infused directly on diamond pearl white aluminum. The diamond-pearl aluminum creates a stunning shimmer with a satin seen enhancing the reflective properties of the image. Images appear crisp and are very visible in brightly light areas while maintaining an overall metallic sheen. All our metal prints are made of weather-resistant material, exhibiting impressive color intensity using UV Color protected technology. This makes it suitable for outdoor areas or bathrooms and comes ready to hang.

The artist, David Brown, studied and received his fine arts training at California State University of Long Beach and graduated with a BFA in drawing and painting in 2018. As a child, he watched his older brother draw and recalls wanting to draw just like him when he grew up. David currently lives in Long Beach, California, and has been lucky to show his work in multiple group shows and a few solo shows, mostly based in the Los Angeles area. His traditional work includes oil, charcoal, and graphite. He is strongly influenced by Renaissance, Baroque, and a lot of today’s contemporary work. David’s work is predominately focused on the human figure. "People are my inspiration. I love learning people’s stories and try to capture the sitter’s narrative through my drawings/paintings. I love drawing people from life, I feel that my work focuses on the relationship between artist and model". His art is his one true passion and he believes that, "artists are super sensitive and emotional human beings, our work is a physical representation of our thoughts and emotions, a diary that we choose to share with the world".

This iconic photograph captures American writer C.Z. Guest (Mrs F.C. Winston Guest, 1920 - 2003) and her son Alexander Michael Douglas Dudley Guest in front of their Grecian temple pool on the ocean-front estate, Villa Artemis, Palm Beach in January 1955. The image epitomizes the sophisticated leisure culture and refined elegance that defined Palm Beach's golden age as America's premier winter resort destination during the mid-1950s. Depicting one of America's classic beauties who was named to the International Best Dressed Hall of Fame List in 1959 in her element at the magnificent estate designed in 1916 by architect F. Burrall Hoffman, who also designed Villa Vizcaya, this photograph captures the essence of American high society at its most authentic and aspirational. The scene embodies the patrician beauty and sporty, outdoorsy aesthetic that defined socially registered enclaves like Palm Beach, where C.Z. Guest became a fashion icon with her unfussy, clean-cut style that was seen as typically American. This image represents the perfect synthesis of old-world architectural grandeur and new-world glamour that made Palm Beach the ultimate destination for America's social elite. The image perfectly embodies the leisurely glamour that defined Palm Beach's social season, where fashion and lifestyle converged in the most exclusive settings. The Colony Hotel's poolside fashion shows were legendary events that attracted the social elite, creating the perfect backdrop for Aarons to document the intersection of high fashion and resort culture that characterized the early 1960s. The Colony Hotel, Palm Beach's iconic "Pink Paradise" established in 1947, served as the epicenter of sophisticated social life for international jet-setters, royalty, and Hollywood celebrities. By 1961, the hotel had become renowned for hosting exclusive poolside fashion shows that showcased the latest resort wear to an audience of discerning socialites and fashion enthusiasts. These events represented the pinnacle of Palm Beach's cultural calendar, where guests could experience the latest trends while enjoying the hotel's legendary hospitality and stunning oceanfront setting that made it a favorite retreat for luminaries including President John F. Kennedy, Judy Garland, and Frank Sinatra. Every piece in our unique Slim Aarons collection is meticulously handcrafted using archival materials and printed on premium, luster photographic paper with environmentally safe inks, custom framed by skilled artisans who ensure that each work of art meets the exacting standards befitting such an iconic photograph.
