Nikki Chu is a celebrity interior designer, author, artist, and entrepreneur with over 20 years of experience. She has worked on various interior projects and licensing deals with reputable companies. She has also appeared as a lifestyle and design expert on HGTV, E!, Oxygen, and own Network, and starred in her own makeover show called “Unboxed with Nikki Chu” on Aspire. Currently, she documents her own home renovation on “Nikki Chu’s Renovation Diary” and was chosen to decorate the garage in Architectural Digest’s The Iconic Home showcase. Summers Greenery 1 is reminiscent of American Abstract Expressionist painter Helen Frankenthaler who was known for her major contributions to the history of postwar American painting. She developed her distinctive and innovative "soak-stain" technique in the early 1950s by pouring thinned oil paint directly onto a raw, unprimed canvas laid on the ground, allowing the colors to soak into the fabric. Summers Greenery 1, a large-scale, non-representational work on canvas, carries on that method by applying thinned layers of color to achieve both translucency and saturation.
