Artist Commentary: I love rocks! I was actually a geology major for a nanosecond until I realized that geology wasn't my calling. I still love to study rocks and some of my favorite treasures are the rocks I've collected throughout my lifetime. Currently, I'm enjoying painting the rocky shorelines that I frequent often in California and Massachusetts.

Artist Commentary: **This painting is part of a six piece series of 12x24 ocean waves and won the "People's Choice" award among the six paintings I painted for Maine Art Hill Gallery's "Choice Art Show 2020 Exhibition" in Kennebunk, Maine.** I’m so grateful for the opportunity to be spending my winters in Southern California and escaping the snow and cold of New England. Daily strolls on the beach are reinvigorating me and even though it’s warmer here than in Boston, I took creative license with this painting and punched up the water with colors of the Caribbean.

This piece features a seashell centered on gray background in muted tones creating a calming ocean tone.

Artist Commentary: **This painting is professionally framed in a 2" warm silver frame with conservation glass and backing** “Blues Traveler” was a really fun painting for me. I loved working with shades of warm and cool blues in the water as well as chasing the light and working the shadows of the rocks. If you zoom in you will see that the rocks in shadow are different values of purple, blues and greens (no browns!) and the sunlit rocks are all warm crimsons and rusts.

Artist Commentary: This is one of my favorite wave paintings. I love, love, love painting waves and will always take a break from a series I'm doing to paint a wave or two. I wish I could tell you that they get easier with every painting I do, but they don't! Water is just hard to paint but the motion of it, the colors, the way the light hits it....I just can't get enough. I have thousands of photo references and my husband often says, "For God's sake Woman! How many more photos do you need to take!?" The truth is, I could take photos of waves all day, every day. I love that I split my time between living in both New England and California as being by the ocean is something I just need in my life.

You go left and I'll go right. Now if only every day you could share waves with friends, but at least you can have a print of Mother Nature's beauty and that's pretty darn close.
