Artist Tommy Kwak’s work explores the transience of landscapes and natural forms through ethereal large-format color photographs. His work has been shown in New York City and Iceland. He earned a BFA in graphic design from California College of the Arts in 2002 and completed photography courses at the International Center of Photography from 2006 to 2008. In 2010 and 2016, Tommy participated in the SIM Residency program in Reykjavik, Iceland, as well as the international arts festival, Villa Reykjavik. Tommy grew up outside of Chicago, lived and worked in Brooklyn, NY for 13 years, and now resides in Montclair, NJ.

The Artist, David Keochkerian, lives in Somme, France. He has a Ph.D. in human physiology and works in the field of physical medicine and rehabilitation. He’s been practicing photography for 5 years now, although he fell into the cauldron when he was a child: his father is now a retired photographer. He grew up with the smell of chemicals and the shutter snap and purr of his roller transport print processor. “I like to capture the fleeting, the subtle, the beautiful, the rare, the spectacular, the staggering… to reveal how the daily and the ordinary can be filled with enthusiasm.” His work is very heterogeneous. He uses and associates many photographic techniques (DRI, HDR, panoramic, Vertorama, long exposure), image renditions (color, B&W, infrared), and different themes (landscape, macro, light-painting, architecture, industry).

One of the more elaborate architectural styles of classical and neoclassical design, slender fluting and scrolled capitals adorn Corinthian columns in Pillars of the Mind 1. Above, a lacunar, or coffered, ceiling offers both decorative and practical use as the recessed spaces simultaneously lighten the weight of the building while also adding visual appeal. Famously noted for its use in Ancient Greek and Roman architecture, this technique was brought back during the Renaissance period. In 2017, after years of sourcing artwork for countless interiors from outside sources, Hampton + Dunes creative director Michelle Mancuso decided to launch the brand’s own exclusive art collection that would perfectly complement their clients’ homes. She called on her longtime friend and gifted photographer Christina Bohn to bring her vision to life.
