The piece is beautiful but it took forever to get. I tried to cancel the order because of a change of address - thought it was cancelled and three weeks later it showed up at my home. Turns out the fulfillment center DECLINED my cancel with no explanation. The first person I spoke with at Perigold was fine, just repeating what her script said. I asked for a manager - explained the situation and he adjusted the pricing for me. So a warning to you - if the product you want shows a delayed shipping, be sure you want it because the final decision isn't yours.. Mary. Milwaukee, WI. Tue May 18 2021

Venture Out is reminiscent of the work of 20th-century American painter Robert Ryman known for his unique approach to monochromatic painting. A balanced composition is the focal point of this minimalist work on paper. The color scheme combines with the dense use of materials and gestural marks that provide the work with a structural feel. The limited color palette of cream, champagne, and sand ties together the work. A graceful complement to smooth pursuit, Venture Out invites a moment of quiet reflection through abstract forms in a pleasing neutral palette. Part of the carefully curated collection.

This exquisite painting from the Qing Dynasty is titled Daylilies and Butterflies by the artist Yu Zhi. The daylily, also known as Xuan grass, symbolizes forgetfulness in Chinese culture. The flower's alternative name, worry-free, is a testament to its ability to evoke tranquility and peace of mind. Historically revered in China, the daylily is often referred to as the mother's flower. The famed Chinese poet Meng Jiao once wrote Daylilies bloom by the household steps, while a wandering child travels afar, a loving mother waits by the door, yet the daylilies blossom. Within the painting, the slender green leaves and vibrant blossoms of the daylilies attract two fluttering butterflies, serving as a metaphor for a wandering child returning to the warmth and joy of a mother's embrace.

Set against the alpine elegance of St. Moritz in 1989, this radiant scene, "Palace Hotel", captures skaters gliding across a sunlit rink as onlookers sip cocktails at pink-clothed tables on the ice’s edge. A tableau of winter leisure at its most refined, it reflects the enduring glamour of Switzerland’s most storied resort, where aristocrats, socialites, and artists mingled in a snow-covered sanctuary of wealth and whimsy. The image distills the effortless charm of après-ski culture, where fur-lined coats, fine dining, and outdoor spectacle coexisted in perfect harmony. Slim Aarons’ lens once again finds joy not only in the setting, but in the ritual of living beautifully. This vibrant photograph, "Keep Your Cool", from January 1978 captures Carmen Alvarez and Frank "Brandy" Brandstetter immersed in a leisurely game of backgammon while seated in the cool waters of an Acapulco swimming pool. The scene perfectly encapsulates the laid-back glamour and playful sophistication of the late 1970s, when luxury vacations blended relaxation with social interaction in exquisite settings. Acapulco, long a magnet for international jet-setters and Hollywood elites, provided the ideal backdrop for such moments of intimate leisure amid sun-soaked, tropical splendor. This image reflects an era when casual elegance and indulgent pastimes were celebrated as part of a cultivated lifestyle.
