Artist Commentary: These still life finger exercises are just that, a way to relax at the easel, to try to capture the essence, both emotional and figurative of something every day - flowers, shoes, kitchen objects, for both interest and pleasure. I paint them in the corners of my day - such a pleasure! Once I painted my shoes - and stupidly stepped into a bit of paint with my bare feet (don't try it at home!). But aside from such .... they are the interstices of my heart. I hope they touch yours.
