Whole Day recalls the modern art period of the 20th century. Dimension is brought forward in a composition of squares, ovals, and rectangles. Distinct color fields of onyx, cream, auburn, bone, and buff offer the work a sense of depth. Taken together, the work offers the viewer an expressive view of the modern art period. A pleasing blend of earth tones and geometric forms, this serene work of abstract art is an original addition to Art by TA.
Mine actually arrived with a different frame than what I was expecting from the listing photos, so I was unsure at first. But once I got it leaned up and styled, I completely changed my mind. The frame I received has a softer, more textured look in person that actually works really well with my space and gives it more character. The artwork itself is beautiful — very neutral, calming, and easy to work into a room without overpowering everything else. It has that high-end abstract look that makes a space feel more finished and layered. Packaging was great and everything arrived in perfect condition. Even though it wasn’t exactly what I expected initially, it ended up being one of those pieces I liked more and more once I saw it in person.. Allyh. Margaretville, NY. Tue May 26 2026

Blue in My Corner 1 recalls the early work of Robert Motherwell, the influential American abstract expressionist painter. This abstract composition on paper is marked by two contrasting blocks of color in snowy white and Aegean blue. A solid shape in steel gray punctuates the lower portion of the picture plane while hand-drawn marks provide a focal point. Embedded scraps of newsprint lend a bit of texture to the work. A rejection of realism, Blue in My Corner 1 serves as a dialogue between poetry and art in this emotional work on canvas. An original addition to the exclusive art.

Charles Stuart is a painter, photographer, designer, printmaker, and digital artist. He has been making art and design since 1968. Charles's work is imagined rather than observed. It is expressive and colorful. He creates new images that speak with the past but are not recreations. At the age of fifteen, he had no other way in mind. He looked at Modern Paintings and decided "this is for me!" it is painting rather than "Art" that interests him. It's all about pictures, color, texture, mark-making.. gesture, surface.

Set against the majestic peaks of the Swiss Alps, this 1964 photograph, "Lounging in Verbier", captures a vibrant winter scene in Verbier, Switzerland, a rising star in the world of alpine sports during the mid-twentieth century. Nestled in the canton of Valais, Verbier was beginning to attract a spirited, adventurous crowd drawn to its expansive slopes and youthful energy. The sunlit gathering of skiers and loungers, framed by towering mountains, reflects a moment when the post-war generation embraced the mountains not just for sport, but for community and escape. In this image, Verbier stands on the cusp of becoming an icon, where snow and sun combined to create a distinctly modern alpine lifestyle. This 1970 photograph, "Poolside Gossip", showcases a quintessential Palm Springs moment at a desert house designed by famed architect Richard Neutra for Edgar J. Kaufmann, a key patron of modernist architecture. Helen Dzo Dzo and Nelda Linsk relax poolside while Lita Baron approaches in the background.
