Romantic Figures 6 is a series of six playful prints reminiscent of illustrated playing cards. The series is a delightful mash-up of early synthetic cubist sentiments and bold German expressionist figures. Synthetic cubism of the early 20th century began to blur the boundaries between painting and sculpture by offering a new understanding of the pictorial surface. We ordered these a few months ago, and when we decided to hang them today, we noticed they differ in dimensions! So now, because we did not check them in the 30-day period, we are stuck with the misalignment in the middle of our living room. The art itself is beautiful but the reproduction method leaves a little to be desired at this price point. The paper the art is printed on has a sheen and almost orange peel type texture.
