This is real art. I say that as a retired university art professor. It isn't just a decorative piece but is provocative and well-executed. It is also well-represented online and arrives looking like an original in terms of texture and color and has real presence in the room. I have been looking at it a great deal since hanging it.. Natural yet otherworldly, intentional camera movements craft an artistic blur as if remembering a dream. Printed on ChromaLuxe to highlight the fluidity of the subject and offer bold modernity. San Francisco photographer Toni Toscano describes her work as nostalgic and impressionistic, finding inspiration in wistful memories.

Calls to mind the nostalgic photography of Helmut Newton, a German-Australian photographer whose black-and-white images became a defining feature of fashion photography in the 20th century. This intentionally slightly blurred photograph encapsulates the grandeur and allure of classic Hollywood glamour while also hinting at the deeper complexities of strength and sophistication. Style and mystery are communicated through the woman's voluminous, floppy hat that fills the entire frame while her chic shades add an air of enigma.

Allison Rietta's water-tinted colors create a sense of dappled light as she weaves them into patterns and shapes. Drawing on the mystic sound of her Himalayan singing bowls, pieces exude melodic vibrations in which colors transcend the visual into the auditory. Beginning with a single color, she layers to control opacity, creating pieces that hold both “wildness” and “transparency.” One piece comes to life in a gesture of fire and frenzy—another, with delicate and deliberate attention. Allison Rietta grew up in Canada and studied art at the Ontario College of Art and Design in Toronto. With her professional life as a creative director behind her, Allison is now able to spend her time away from a computer, working with paper and paintbrush. Curated in partnership with Lipman Art, this piece is printed on high-quality art paper and professionally framed using award-winning moldings renowned for quality and design.
