The artist, David Brown, studied and received his Fine Arts training at California State University of Long Beach and graduated with a BFA in Drawing and Painting in 2018. As a child, he watched his older brother draw and recalls wanting to draw just like him when he grew up. David currently lives in Long Beach, California, and has been lucky to show his work in multiple group shows and a few solo shows, mostly based in the Los Angeles area. His traditional work includes oil, charcoal, and graphite. He is strongly influenced by the Renaissance, Baroque, and a lot of today’s contemporary work. David’s work is predominately focused on the human figure. “People are my inspiration. I love learning people’s stories and trying to capture the sitter’s narrative through my drawings/ paintings. I love drawing people from life, and I feel that my work focuses on the relationship between artist and model”. His art is his one true passion and he believes that, “artists are super sensitive and emotional human beings, our work is a physical representation of our thoughts and emotions, a diary that we choose to share with the world”.

Leftbank Art presents Queen Of The Night by Anthony Pena, a striking abstract portrait rendered as a gallery-wrapped giclee print on canvas. Drenched in a rich black and blue palette, this hand-detailed and embellished composition is encased within a black solid wood floater frame. The rectangular portrait orientation brings compelling depth and sophistication to any refined interior, complete with wall-mounting hardware for seamless display.

Paul Taylor, born in San Francisco and raised in Davis, CA, finds inspiration for his abstract art in the spare gridded farmlands of his childhood. Influenced by Aaron Siskind, Minor White, and local artists Roland Petersen and Wayne Thiebaud, he began shooting abstract work almost immediately after picking up a camera. He built a darkroom in his family's wine cellar and attended UC Santa Cruz before studying at Art Center/College of Design and starting an advertising photography business in Los Angeles. Though advertising pays the bills, Paul continues to find solace and inspiration in creating art. Transform your space with this archival digital print on canvas. Each piece is expertly framed in an oak frame and complete with convenient D-rings for easy hanging.
