This is grown-up emulating the works of the masters using rudimentary tools. David received his fine arts training while apprenticing under other painters and is primarily self-taught. He became an artist through sheer will, grit, and determination. "I enjoy layers of transparency and the unpredictable nature of water-based mediums". Eric explores themes of memory and place often through abstract and draws inspiration from the world around him, across a multitude of disciplines. David’s passions are drawing, painting, illustration, design, film, and photography. When David is not painting, his time is spent enjoying the outdoors with canine companions.

David Brown studied and received his Fine Arts training at California State University of Long Beach and graduated with a BFA in drawing and painting in 2018. As a child, he watched his older brother draw and recalls wanting to draw just like him when he grew up. David currently lives in Long Beach, California, and has been lucky to show his work in multiple group shows and a few solo shows, mostly based in the Los Angeles area. His traditional work includes oil, charcoal, and graphite. He is strongly influenced by Renaissance, Baroque, and a lot of today's contemporary work. David's work is predominately focused on the human figure. "People are my inspiration. I love learning people's stories and trying to capture the sitter's narrative through my drawings/paintings... I love drawing people from life, I feel that my work focuses on the relationship between artist and model." His art is his one true passion and he believes that "artists are super sensitive and emotional human beings, our work is a physical representation of our thoughts and emotions, a diary that we choose to share with the world."
