It’s called “freedom” because it was inspired by the Carnation Revolution. The character of Salgueiro Maia, the emblematic character of the 25th of April, was used as the basis for representing this member of the armed forces. The red carnation sardine is a symbol of the peaceful revolution.

It is where everything begins and ends, but it also gives haven to tranquility and to imagining of the future which contrasts with the force of the ocean that embraces us, that motivates us to build bridges, to break the restlessness of the present, and to look forward to the dawn.
