This vibrant 1975 scene at La Concha Beach Club in Acapulco, Mexico, epitomizes the effortless glamour and leisure of the mid-1970s elite. The sun-drenched setting, with bathers reclining on a striped floating platform and shaded by tropical palms, captures a moment of relaxed luxury amid one of Mexico’s most coveted coastal retreats. La Concha was a favored destination for jet-setters seeking sun, sea, and sophisticated socializing during an era defined by opulence and carefree elegance. This image preserves the spirit of a bygone time when resort culture flourished and high society embraced the pleasures of seaside leisure. Slim Aarons, renowned for his evocative photographs of, as he described it, "attractive people doing attractive things in attractive places," was the quintessential chronicler of high society. After serving as a war photographer, Aarons turned his lens to a new landscape: the glamorous lives of Hollywood elites, Palm Beach socialites, and jet-setting debutantes and princes. His work for society publications captured an aspirational world of leisure and luxury that defined the American upper class throughout the mid-20th century, creating images that remain timeless symbols of sophistication and style. The photograph is presented as a high-resolution scan of the photo's original photographic slide, complete with hand-lettered archival notations along the mount. Offered exclusively by Soicher Marin, this edition preserves the full character of the original format, transforming it into a striking piece of wall art that merges history, authenticity, and timeless style. More than a photograph, it is a curated artifact of American cultural glamour, bringing a refined yet playful sophistication to any well-appointed interior. Set against the balmy backdrop of the Bahamas in 1963, this vivid photograph, "Bahamas Speed Week", captures a fleeting moment of pre-race glamour at Nassau’s famed Oakes Course. At center stage is Gordon Butler’s Chevrolet Corvette Sting Ray, its sleek red form surrounded by onlookers in crisp attire and casual ease. The scene evokes the golden age of motorsport when racing was as much about high society spectacle as it was about speed. The annual Speed Week attracted jet-setters, thrill-seekers, and style icons alike, transforming the island into a playground of performance and prestige. This 1959 photograph, "Beauty and the Beast", offers a rare glimpse into the opulent interiors of Palm Beach high society, where glamour and eccentricity often intersected. This captivating photograph captures the idyllic leisure atmosphere at the legendary Tahoe Tavern on the shores of Lake Tahoe, California, in 1959. The image showcases the resort during its final golden years as one of America's premier mountain destinations, where bathers enjoyed the perfect combination of alpine grandeur and sophisticated hospitality that defined the Sierra Nevada's most celebrated luxury retreat. Depicting the timeless allure of American mountain resort culture, this photograph embodies the vision of timber baron Duane L. Bliss, who transformed Lake Tahoe into an international playground for discerning travelers seeking "primitive simplicity with twentieth century luxury." The scene represents the culmination of nearly sixty years of refined hospitality, where the Tahoe Tavern served as "the finest hostelry between San Francisco and the Rockies," attracting guests from across the United States and Europe who arrived via the resort's own narrow-gauge railroad and elegant steamship service to experience the unparalleled beauty of America's most spectacular alpine lake. Captured in 1972, this vibrant image, "Poolside Backgammon", reflects the hedonistic glamour of Las Brisas, Acapulco, a hotspot for international elites during the golden age of jet-set leisure. Set at Villa Nirvana, the private estate of Mexican industrialist Oscar Obregón, the scene is a sun-soaked tableau of wealth, style, and leisure where guests lounge, socialize, and play poolside games against a backdrop of whitewashed architecture and panoramic views. As Mexico’s Pacific coast emerged as a playground for celebrities and aristocrats, this photograph epitomized the luxurious ease and carefree elegance that defined the era’s social elite. Slim Aarons, renowned for his evocative photographs of, as he described it, "attractive people doing attractive things in attractive places," was the quintessential chronicler of high society. This iconic photograph captures ladies by the pool at the Kaufmann Desert House in Palm Springs, California, January 1970. From right to left, former fashion model Helen Dzo Dzo Kaptur (in white lace), unknown, Nelda Linsk (in yellow), wife of art dealer Joseph Linsk, and actress Lita Baron (in the white sunhat). The Linsks are the current owners of the house. The image epitomizes the sophisticated leisure culture and Desert Modernism aesthetic that defined Palm Springs' golden age as Hollywood's exclusive desert playground during the early 1970s. Depicting stylish socialites enjoying a leisurely afternoon at Richard Neutra's architectural marvel designed in 1946 for Edgar J. Kaufmann, Sr., the house has been described as "an architectural marvel that helped define the modernist aesthetic of the resort city of Palm Springs," this photograph captures the essence of California's jet-set lifestyle at its most glamorous. The scene embodies the relaxed, moneyed allure of Palm Springs in the 60s and 70s, when it served as the perfect hideaway for the glitterati - close enough to the LA studios, far enough from the paparazzi's clicking cameras. This image represents the perfect fusion of modernist architecture and Hollywood glamour that made Palm Springs the ultimate desert retreat for America's cultural elite. The print is lovely, but unfortunately, the frame arrived damaged on the left side. Perigold customer service is wonderful and they immediately sent out a new print. We received the second one quickly, but the same damage was on the replacement frame—in exactly the same place—left side gauges in the frame! It appears that the frames may be stored in a way that the left sides are compromised. We have kept the replacement piece…love it!. Maureen. Huntington Beach, CA. Sun Nov 20 2022

Show off your personality while making an impactful statement to your décor with these stunning museum-quality art pieces. Each piece is printed in ultra-high resolution on your choice of premium ultra-HD metallic photo paper back-mounted under transparent acrylic glass or a high-definition print directly on high-quality diamond pearl white aluminum. Both results are a completely realistic ultra-HD photo print that has vivid colors, bold contrasts, is UV protected, and is halftone-free. All pieces are backed with aluminum framing which creates a floating effect and comes ready to hang. Differences between Acrylic and Aluminum: The first thing to note is that you can’t go wrong with either medium! HD Acrylic: On 1/4" acrylic pieces the image is back-mounted under the acrylic. The optical transparent acrylic glass enhances the effect of depth and brings out the metallic UltraHD photo print’s exact contours and details for a stunning 3D effect. Because the image is printed using metallic UltraHD photo paper, this format will give you sharper lines and edges at higher resolutions. There is a reflective property with acrylic in which light refracts through the acrylic glass, giving your photos substance and depth, as well as superb image quality from edge to edge. Also notable is that all our acrylic art piece’s edges are hand diamond polished to capture the surrounding light. HD Metal: On the metal pieces the image is printed/infused directly on diamond pearl white aluminum. The diamond-pearl aluminum creates a stunning shimmer with a satin seen enhancing the reflective properties of the image. Images appear crisp and are very visible in brightly light areas while maintaining an overall metallic sheen. All our metal prints are made of weather-resistant material, exhibiting impressive color intensity using UV Color protected technology. This makes it suitable for outdoor areas or bathrooms and comes ready to hang.
