Bellagio sits in Lombardy, a region known for being at the cutting edge of design, and that is where the Illuminare votives are made. Each one is mouthblown and then hand painted, the glass shaped by breath before a brush ever touches it, so the blue and white pattern on the Illuminare Blue Birds Votive belongs to that piece of glass alone. Lit, the painting reads as silhouette and the glow comes through soft and welcoming; unlit, it is a small piece of Italian glass worth leaving on a shelf. A tea light is included, so it works the moment it is unwrapped. Cluster a few down a table for a dinner that runs late, set one on a nightstand, or give a hand painted Italian votive as a small gift people keep.
