Giles's love for subverting design tropes drew him to explore new iterations of this Sanderson archive original. The archive itself houses a fine collection of mid-late nineteenth-century Trompe-l'oeil wallpaper patterns depicting curtains bows ribbons and tassels and here Wilsford is cloaked in illusion. With a clever use of refined screens from a distance Wilsford has the appearance of beautifully draping fabric. Created using stylized flat colors Wilsford suits the rotary printing technique and mimics the original document to staggering effect. Like an aged hazy memory of a bygone period perfectly preserved and dramatically beautiful the design rejoices in decayed decadence repurposed on a sumptuous grand scale. Wilsford blooms like an old house reborn having found its way through time to be revealed in new beauty.
