My work is a representation of how I see things past, present and future. My realistic works are snippets of time. My abstracts reflect spacial planes, time, and a depth of field reflected by the creative vastness and limitless imagination our minds grant us, giving us the ability to create. I like taking flat sheets of brass, bronze, copper, brass and steel and by using extreme heat provided by the torch and different types of forming tools I am able to mix and manipulate the materials and force them to become my impression of what I see. The art is the process where I create the image in my mind. The craftsmanship comes in when I take the images I see in my minds eye and by using tools and the heat of the torch I manipulate the metal to a point where the viewer can also gets a glimpse at the feeling I had during the creative process. If all this comes together then the sculpture will evoke the feeling I set out to capture and the viewer will get some of the same feelings.
